OK, this will probably be my last entry, it was drawn completely with paint.NET:

The Whalebone Leafblade

So... if you decide to make this, the blade should be about the length of a shortsword blade, I understand it's around the size of a large dagger now, but I meant for it to be like a shortsword, please keep the hilt the same size though. The bronze fittings would look much better with designs (If possible)and if you don't put designs, please don't leave it plain flat, if you could follow the bumps which I emphasised in the shadng then that would be cool. There are more details on the picture itself.

All this if you choose it of course ;D

How do you like this cleaver? It's more of a fantasy design. The spine is dead straight, and the cutting edge gets progressively wider as you can see in the picture. The hilt is made of bone, hence the (Badly done) colour. There is a skull carved in above the crossguard (This is optional, I'd probably look better without it.) The grip is a very dark red - almost black. The blade has no decoration just plain steel. It has no scabbard. I call it "Bone Cleaver".

That one seems the protheus of the scimitar and katana. Albeit I can't assure such thing, to me it may be even as they were before both gaining a curved design and the katana losing a bit of the thickness as to favor the slicing. Indeed is that curve lacking that give me the feeling something is wrong with the design (this doesn't means that weapon is inviable, being that a model somewhat shorter and bolder exists, is known among us as "peixera" meaning "to deal with fish" and was the melee weapon of choice of the "jagunços and cangaceiros").

Edit: But what is itching me in the model seems something about balance, maybe it is just a bit long for the hilt, maybe is just the lacking of the curve I expect in a weapon such it.

It isn't really meant to be a katana or scimitar type blade at all, it's more of a two-handed falshion with an unprotective crossguard. You know the falshions right? Anyway Jody Samson who is one of the world's best swordmakers made one similar to this. It's where I got the idea. I doubt he would make unbalanced swords unless he had reason to.

nah seems fine to me too :)

its a chopping weapon... heavy top... heavy hit... small handle for one hand use... prolly a thin flexible blade... the only thing comparable apart from a falchion would be a dao or somin... its just a bit simple and i dont like such swords lol... nah dont wanna do it lol... that shortsword is more my thing ;) and its a bit celtic again lol... at leats the hilt and guard... with a greek blade.

i wanna do meykarus design tho... that wing stuff looks so fancy... well well see how it works out... still 3 days i think...

You said all... it's a chopping weapon, where it seems a bit long and thin to this. But as Talos itself said it bends a bit toward fantasy... and it have elegance indeed.

@JaySuS - Cool, I hope you'll be able to do that shortsword ;D It took alot of time - it's the last time I'll make a sword from scratch on paint.NET without scanning an existing drawing and tracing over it.

I reckon you know why my swords have a celtic influence... ;D

@nosisab - I hope I didn't sound defensive... but I thank you for your compliments, anyway, that's my least favourite of the three I've posted ;D

heheh, is anyone else getting a hello kitty pink and purple painweaver?

i'm just gonna assume something is amiss, and jaysus didn't take artistic liberties, lol.

serious tho, the plug in is installed fine, but the textures aren't picking up...any ideas? probably something on my end?

aside from this, the model is awesome, what a kick to see my design realized in game. thanks again jays!

I agree Lainge, Painweaver is a nice blade... even if I tend towards the realistic blade side and it is very fantasy type, the modelling is great, and the knucklebow really sets the whole blade off. I always loved knucklebow swords, but I could never design one I was happy with.
