Mojlnir
Okay, can anyone suggest a decent firewall? I'm making the leap from dialup to DSL and I want my computer on lockdown. Are the ones from McAfee or Norton any good? Oh, fyi, I'm in North America.

Blue Flame
I use Broderbund ZoneAlarm Pro 3.0. It's in the $30-$50 range, depending on where you get it. Get it here....I mean Here. :D
Mojlnir
Thanks guys. When it comes to security, price is not a concern. I want level 4 supermax lockdown, and I'll pay to get it. :) I'll check those out though, thanks again.
SothThe69th
I prefer SyGates personal Firewall for my purposes. My friend had big problems with ZoneAlarm (and had to uninstall it.). I haven't used Nortons firewall, but I do use their virus scanner, and if the level of quality is equal, then you're set.
Baphomet
Another vote for Sygate. Have it, use it, love it.
HeLLL
Well depending how computer literate you are you could set up a dedicated server running a hacked linux kernel, iptables, <?ipchains?>, shoreline (good secure and easily maintience firewall), Squid cache (if you want a caching service) and thats about it. Could add in some fancy stuff like your own mail server (postfix). If you seem interested hola back or pm me. More than happy to give you advice or answer any questions. Oh yeah its all free. Just need a piece of pooe computer with 2 NICs a mobo, cpu (486 to 300mhz) 64Mb - 256Mb of RAM (EDO, SDRAM, DDR) a CD-ROM drive (although you can install 'nix across a network B) ) and a HDD 2Gb - 10 Gb. Grab some Cat 5/5e and you are set :D
