Constant CTD with Open Cities installed

Been playing Skyrim with all my mods without issue for about 60 hours of gameplay in the past couple months.

 

Installed Open Cities and I get lots of CTD when going in or out of buildings.

 

Load order sorted with LOOT.

 

Guessing it's conflicting with something... but not sure where to start!

 

Hoping the Papy log sheds some light. Please let me know if any further info is needed.

 

Any ideas?

 

System specs:

i7-4770k (stock clock)

Radeon RX 580 (stock clock) (driver ver 17.11.4)

32G RAM (4x 8G)

Win 10 Pro 1709 (Build 16299.125)

Thanks for the fast reply! I'm starting Skyrim using SKSE, but haven't heard of ENBoost. I will install that now and give it a shot!

 

Wasn't sure if anything in the Papyrus log might be a clue as to what's causing the game to dump like that.

Wow, I just can't figure out this ENBoost thing.

 

First, I got to the nexus but it says to use the newer version, OK.

I got to the newer version page, but it says to download and install the OLD version, then copy over the newer INI. Kay.

If you don't have ENBoost or ENBSeries, install it by instructions at old mod page (link above), then replace
old enblocal.ini with new.

 

Then it says to not install without having the binaries, but when you go to enbdev's site, they only list old downloads. Keeps saying to download the newer version which doesn't appear to be on the site??

This is outdated patch, you should use latest ENBSeries for Skyrim

 

This isn't worth it for one mod. Might just delete open cities.

Scroll down until you see v0.319 and download it. I always just use the latest version. Install the wrapper version to the Skyrim root folder.

 

You will now have an enblocal.ini in your Skyrim folder. This is what you will edit for your pc setup.I would follow this guide: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#INI_Configurations

You'll probably have to try different settings 'til you find what works best for your rig.

 

ENBoost is an enb without the graphics to maximize performance. I have a beast for a rig, but still use a lot of work arounds to get Skyrim to use as much of my ram and vram as possible.

 

Make sure your SKSE.ini has these lines:

[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

 

Open Cities is a wonderful mod so I hope you can get it working!

Hmm, for some reason I thought you were using SKSE already. You don't need it if you don't care to use the in game config for Open Cities, but it's required for many other great mods and has the .ini with the memory patch if you add the lines I posted above.

v1.7.3 . I use the, install via Steam option, But you can install it manually too. Once installed you will find the SKSE .ini file here: Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data/SKSE

The memory patch is the single best thing you can do to stabilize your game.

Sorry, my wording was bad. I'm starting Skyrim by using SKSE through Steam, but I do not have a SKSE.ini file in the SteamApps/common/Skyrim/SKSE folder.

 

I created a SKSE.ini file with the following contents and put it in that directory, but I get an instant CTD upon loading a save game.
