Don't know how to get SKSE working

I'm not sure if this topic should be in technical issues or not, but I'm really new to pc gaming and even more so to modding. The thing is I'm trying to download mods for Skyrim SE, and some of them requires SKSE. I've been trying to download the SKSE Special Edition version by copying steps from different videos on YouTube. Not too sure what I'm doing to be honest, but my Nexus mod manager isn't accepting the SKSE.rar file. So I was wondering if anyone could help me get this working? Much appreciated

SKSE needs to be installed manually. Unpack the zipped file and drag the content into the game's install folder. Let the Data folder overwrite the game's one. Make sure you have the SKSE version that goes with the game version.

Sorry I can't send another photo, It keeps telling me that my photos are too big. I'm not computer savvy so I'm not too sure what what you said means, but I think you mean to drag the 5 skse files (2 dll, 1 exe, and 2 txt files) into the folder where the Skyrim SE.exe and Launcher.exe files are? That's what I did.

I'm pretty sure I have the right SKSE version. How do you know for sure? And is there a certain way you're meant to download SKSE mods? I tried downloading a mod requiring it manually to NMM and it ended up not appearing in game. And that was after launching the Skyrim SE SKSE version from NMM.

Thanks for replying too by the way

Here is a a great video for installing SKSE which i used

Your right it does to be honest with you. But I posted the video for those folks who don't want to read the read.me file for whatever reason.

Gopher pretty much nails it for those who are paranoid of making any kind of errors though.. followed a few of his videos as I am getting into modding and its a great help to have that resource.

On saying that, mine has been playing up at the mo.. had 4.31 of Xp32 installed that I had to rollback to 4.20 due to the loading saves CTD issue.. but its left something behind,(Well I assume its that because that's all the changed when II uninstalled 4.31 to add in 4,20) as my SKSE64 loader won't work from the desktop anymore.. loads up the vanilla game with SKSE64 not working.. I figured out an odd work around though.. need to open the loader as an Admin in the program files folder itself... the first copy of Skyrim it loads will also not have SKSE working as it connects to steam first, Closing down the Skyrim SE box that comes up and then starting the loader as Admin a second time takes me straight into game as planned and everything is running fine.

Hopefully when the 4.31 is upgraded, that issue will go.
