Credit To The Mod Makers!

I decided to make an attempt at the GECK SDK... and I was rather promptly lost. Between the large number of preset "kits" and the various tricks, tips and options for a seemingly simple-minded system... I got confused and lost right quick.

As such, I feel it necessary to offer credits to every damn fine mod maker out there, and any damn fine mod makers to come. Y'all do your damnedest with the GECK, no matter which edition. To that, I say good job, damn good job.

I also feel it necessary to offer my condolences to said mod makers for the many flamers they've had to deal with, as these people (the flamers) do not realize the time and effort required to perform something as simple as a new BILLBOARD, let alone something distinctly more complex, like a usable motorcycle or bus.

I also feel it necessary to offer extensive credit to the one responsible for the mod "Requiem in a Capitol Wasteland", as the requirements, and effort, for such an extreme modification, even going so far as to have both parts cooperate fully, have to be insane.

As such, to all you mod makers out there, I offer my congratulations for having the balls (both figurative and literal) to make these mods while keeping your local murder rates due to psychosis down. To all of you modders responsible for the bigger mods, like Project NEVADA and CASE, I offer my sincerest apologies to your families and your minds, for surely your family's have all gone crazy and your minds burned out from your intense modding, and surly the only reason they continue to work is because they don't know when to stop.

Why not make another attempt? :)

I got lost trying to make my own mini-vault using the tutorial. What do you think would happen if I tried something else?

I was going to make a small mod for the Scavenger Platform on Lake Mead, but, I don't know the Cell ID for it.

That, and, as previously mentioned, I got quite lost in the GECK, and not in a good way.

Starting really small will help you to better find your way around the Geck and how it works. Spend some time just clicking on things and looking around. Look through all of the different locations in the CellView window. The Scavenger Platform is located it the WastelandNV worldspace and is labeled for easy finding.

Okay, thanks for the heads-up bethjunkie. I think I will go back to look it over again.

...Always did think the Scav Platform had potential...

Hyoukage, if you want to find a location the the GECK's WastelandNV worldspace that is not named you can convert the games X,Y coordinates to cells by dividing the game cords by 4096. In the game console type Player.GetPos X to get the X coordinate, Player.GetPos Y to get the Y cords. Divide each by 4096 and you have the Cell X,Y to punch into the GECK's X, Y text boxes beside the Go button in the Cell View.

I'm almost certain 4096 is the right number, I'm doing this from memory and I know it's close if not exact. If I'm wrong hopefully someone will correct me.

Thank you, Pelgar, for this information. Going to see what I can do with making a "floating fortress" on Lake Mead... might wind up adding another boarding ramp or two, so I have an excuse to put those portable turrets to work. And sandbags... lots of sandbags.

Sounds like an awsome idea. No trees to remove so no LOD problems (hopefuly). make sure to put some sunken treasure below the platform!
