starfis
Is there any way how to go back to downloading through NMM after trying and uninstalling Vortex? I found out I'm too used to NMM, and Vortex is now weird, plus the mod descriptions don't really work for imported mods, and that is one of the things I need. Grestorn
Mod descriptions work fine on imported mods if you set the correct mod id for each mod (which Vortex will try to do itself if you press the button). Going back to NMM and reassoiciating the download link can be done by reinstalling NMM, which should revert the link manager to NMM, I think. However, in the long run, I am pretty sure you will have to learn the >wierdness< of Vortex anyway, since NMM is dying soon. And believe it or not, the weirdness is just a neccessity of the problematic issues modding (on Bethesda games). It is much better to understand how and why Vortex is working the way it does, than to cope with the inadequacies of NMM which just does a bad job of managing mods. Tannin42
To go back to downloading through NMM, simply go to settings (in NMM!) and check "Associate with NXM URLs". You may have to run it as administrator, otherwise the checkbox may be disabled.
starfis
I'm not really against using Vortex with the future games, bul like a lot of people who are currently grumbling, I would rather manage my esps at least for current games by hand, without the need for understanding how to "write" rules. It is not intuitive for me after the long years of using the NMM. @Tannin: Thanks for the tip, I've of course tried ticking it before, and even though it was possible to tick it, only running as administrator did the trick. Grestorn
You just don’t hve to write rules. If you think you do, then there’s a very basic misunderstanding.
