Moonwalkr
I've installed a couple of new mods (the Sirius armor), and suddenly after restarting the game all of my items from mods (ie prefabs, PAs, structures etc) are GONE and the game shows "XXX mod added" for about a minute, listing all mods as if they were installed for the first time... I'm guessing some file was corrupted and recreated, making the game think that these mods and items are new. I do not, however, understand why the items I've used do not show up in the locations I've originally placed them if they are now available in the game...? Where are the locations of each item stored? I'm thinking there must be some file listing all placed items with X/Y/Z coordinates or something? If I open the workshop, all the mods are there and I can place NEW items. But all the existing items are gone. This happens no matter which older savegame I open... I was standing high up in my house when I logged out, and when I enter, I suddenly am not holding my (mod) gun, and I am standing in thin air, being lowered to the ground... I don't feel like building everything again, so right now this feels like the end of my FO4 gaming experience :-(
bill8872
I have never had this happen when adding any new mods, but try uninstalling the mods you added to see if everything is back on an older save. If so quit in a safe place, re-add the mods. I have had this happen to my mods that I have merged. If I add a new mod to it during a play through the ID's can change, and the game dose think they are new items. If I want to add during a play through then I have to be sure everything I have equipped, built, or is in racks, must be removed first, or this happens. JimmyRJump
Did you per chance install an upgrade of NMM lately and installed it elsewhere than originally?
Moonwalkr
Did you per chance install an upgrade of NMM lately and installed it elsewhere than originally? Thank you for responding. Well, I probably did an NMM reinstall a couple of weeks ago, as my game was completely unstable and I tried to follow this instruction: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23556 which, when finished, resulted in me not being able to start the game at all. After that I deleted the entire game and NMM and all mods, re-downloaded the game, re-downloaded NMM and then re-downloaded and installed all mods one by one. This resulted in a great and stable game, until this problem started. Actually, after writing the initial post, I found that if I went far enough back in my savegames (I tried each one until finally I found one that did NOT have these issues). This works fine, although I have lost 11 hours of game-time and all progress and building since then...

I'm not sure what you mean by "merged". And what do you mean you remove everything first?
JimmyRJump
Some plug-ins that make small changes can be merged into one mod with just the one esp.
bill8872
Merging mods together cuts down on the number if .esp's I have. I merged close to 30 armor, and weapon mods. One for armor/clothing's. Another for weapons. If I add a new mod to my existing merges it dose mess then up. So if I do so during a play through, then I lose the items, as the ID's have changed in the merge. Oh wow, I didn't know about this. That is awesome. I found some videos explaining this, so I'll try this immediately to cut down on the number of plugins I have. Thank you for your response!
