TheTimberwolf
I was wondering how I might be able to pull up Sovngarde Cloak and Necklace ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16096 ) and make them enchantable ? I cant seem to find the items in the kit and not sure what to do next. I have been googling this and reading wiki's but I felt something like this is probably really easy and I am just digging too deep for an answer. Thanks for your responses. blacksupernova
I haven't used the mod. So is the items currently unenchantable? If the problem is no enchantment can be put on the item, you can add key word to them . For example, adding key word "ClothingNecklace" will allow the item to use all enchantments that can be put on necklace.

It's great that you were able to find the items. However, you didn't share HOW you found the items. So the rest of us who found this with a Google search "how to make skyrim armor enchantable" are still in the dark.
Ssweetsimplicity
@ blacksupernova: thanks, that was exactly what I needed to know! Now, here's how to pull up the plug-in that you want to edit in the creation kit:1. Click the folder icon--under the "Files" tab--that's titled, "Load"2. In the new window, scroll through the list and find your plug-in3. Once you've found what you're looking for, double-click it4. If warnings pop up, press "Yes to All" and wait for the plug-in to load up5. Find which item you want to edit--via the search bar--and double click it6. In the new window, confirm that the item has no enchantments and that the item has the right keywords in order to make it enchantable. As blacksupernova said, a necklace should have the keyword, "ClothingNecklace", a ring must have the keyword, "ClothingRing", and so on. Also, if there are any keywords such as, "DisallowEnchanting", you should remove them. For additional reference, examine some vanilla items in the kit.7. Once you've made the desired changes, click "OK" There's one last thing to note--do not save your changes as a new plug-in file or it will contain only the changes that you made. For instance, I made some changes to some jewelry and then saved them as a new plug-in. So, the items existed in the game, but didn't have any 3-D models, meaning they didn't show up on my character. Finally, for additional help, there are numerous tutorials on YouTube that walk you through using the Creation Kit. AlexMulderFox
To make this short and simple, first you should know the basics of CK, it's pretty much common sense and that's coming from a guy who just started modding. Load your mods ESP along with Skyrim.ESP and Update.ESP and be sure to activate your desired mod as the active file. You'll see this option when you're first selecting your desired mod. While in there, go to armor or weapon, depending upon what it is you're editing, then look it up in the list, (easiest way since many like to give off names to items from the actual item name in game) is to sort it by form ID. your mod will either be at the bottom or top. double click it, or right click and open. On the right is a Box under "Keywords". In here, right click and add a new ID. Choose clothing necklace, ring, and so on, to determine what enchantments can be used. It will not hurt to put "ClothingRing" on a armor piece, or in my case a add on item like shoulder pads, or as many clothing items as you desire like giving gloves muffling by giving them the keyword "ClothingGauntlets". All this keyword determines is the functions of the item, like what kinds of enchantments can be used on it. Weapons are the same way, except for the clothing keywords. Here you will look for weapons. I know it's a late response but I hope this helps anyone else with this issue. I looked all over, and found all the wrong replies to a simple description of the issue at hand, I had to figure it out myself.
