Axeman89
I am running Fallout 3 and Broken Steel via the Fallout Mod Manager (and now with the unofficial patch installed), but can't proceed whenever I am supposed to lose consciousness. NPCs voice their dialogue, then keep looking around awkwardly as I stare back. I had to use a cheat code to obtain power armor training, cannot complete the purification ceremony at Oasis, and, worst of all, after Summers and his thugs ambush me in Vault 87, they just stand over me, and I look back and forth, unable to pass out and be captured! As impressed as I am by my stamina, I would like to be able to proceed through the quest. I loaded an earlier save game, and have now done everything but complete the main quest. Does anyone have suggestions/ideas?

Axeman89
Mods? I'm not running any.Or are you suggesting I find one? Edited May 1, 2012 by Axeman89
Axeman89
This may be related to a larger problem---dialogue scenes that occur without dialogue trees (such as characters talking to each other) sometimes freeze until I can leave the room, talk to someone else, etc. I found myself stuck during the Free Labor quest in The Pitt, unable to speak to Ashur, until I saw the Wiki recommend entering resetquest xx00108d and setstage xx00108d 10 into the console, which worked. This might solve the problem, once I decide what to do about Marie and finish with The Pitt. Edited May 2, 2012 by Axeman89
BlackRampage
I'm not running any.Are you quite certain? You did mention the unofficial patch in your first post. Post your load order. once I decide what to do about Marie and finish with The Pitt.Side with Ashur of course. Wernher's motives are far too self-serving imho. Axeman89
Sorry about that---yes, I've loaded the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch recently, hoping it would solve the problem. The load order is: Unofficial Fallout 3 PatchFallout 3Broken SteelThe PittUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch: The PittUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch: Broken Steel. I've gone back and managed to solve my earlier problem with getting stuck in Oasis by using console codes to tell the game that I had progressed past that point in the quest, and am now trying to do the same in Vault 87. So far I've been able to trigger the next quest, but not to teleport myself to Raven Rock. Also, yeah, I sided with Asshur. As much as I had wanted to attempt another Scourge, Wernher was too self-obsessed and had no real plan or technology (plus I managed to kill a few Raiders, anyway). Axeman89
I've changed my load order to match that, but haven't noticed any differences, yet. I got to Raven Rock by using the movetoqt command, and made it as far as the meeting with Lyons before finding myself in a position where I can't progress, and unsure of which console commands to use to proceed. M48A5
You have more of a problem than just load order. You should not have to continue to use console commands to progress through the game like you are doing. I suggest you do a little more research through the threads here. I am sure you can find a solution to your problem with a little research.
BlackRampage
unsure of which console commands to use to proceed.None. Try loading a save from before you started using console commands to proceed. (I'd say it's a bad idea to use console commands to proceed through the stages of a quest to begin with, unless used as a last resort)
