WilsonB1
Hey everyone. Long time Bethesda/Elder Scrolls/Fallout fan. Thought I would finally get around to doing some modding for Skyrim!. I am working on making a mod which introduces wild boar and feral hogs to the province of Skyrim. The aim is to have adult male/female variants, as well as young piglets. The pigs will hopefully be a good addition to the library of creatures available in the modding community/vanilla creatures. Planned Features:-Migrating heards based on season/month-Pigs raiding settlements/farms in search of food-Agressive male adults, hearding sows and piglets-Food harvested from hogs compatible with IMCN (Imp's More Complex Needs)-Harvestable hide(s) and other animal parts-Guide book to migration patterns, prefered habitat, recipes and other useful info for hunters to use on pig hunts. Workflow Pipeline:-Low poly model done in 3ds Max, brought into ZBrush for highpoly sculpt/polypaint/spotlight work.-Diffuse, and normal maps baked in xNormal.-Texture post work done in nDO2/PS/SubstanceDesigner. Gebreth
It looks nice! Do you plan to add fur like those on goats and cows already in-game?
WilsonB1
Cheers mate. I would like to add some tufts of hair once the poly paint is done. Yes it will be similar to the method used for vanilla animals tufts, hopefully I can blend it to look nicer though.
Gebreth
Definitively a good idea, it should add some variety (and Skyrim lacks of bacon hehe)
WilsonB1
The adult pigs will provide meats and pelts (adult males/females) and tusks (male adults). The piglets will provide suckling pig meat which could be useful for some recipes. The piglets will be rather helpless and unable to defend themselves from predators, the mother pigs will be the piglets only form of protection (protect others in pig faction). The adult males will be highly aggressive towards all creatures, fight other male pigs as well as a chance of aggression towards females and piglets. The idea of herds is interesting as well. Mass migration patterns for various herds based on time of year, food sources, and civilization activity.
Boaresa
So whats up with that nearly a year ago since the last reply. Dead as a ham? I would like to see some european hogs in Skyrim, the Bristlebacks of Solstheim look like warthogs.

WilsonB1
Here are 2 quick wips of some trial runs applying photorealistic texturing to the Adult Male high poly model using spotlight in ZBrush. The topology of the mesh is a little wonky creating some blurring in areas of the body which will have to be dealt with prior to baking the highpoly detail into a lowpoly version. http://i.imgur.com/sDn0GnK.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LG7je5Y.jpg Low poly in-game mesh topologyhttp://i.imgur.com/biSczDu.jpg Edited June 14, 2013 by Wilson_B
