Is it copyrighted? If it's something like free models that are royalty-free and the licence is essentially that you do what you want, then, that's probably fine as long as you get the weapons working in the game. But if it breaches copyright in any way, it is not allowed.

There are some sites that have 3d models that they claim are copyright free, but they aren't. They are often ripped from other games or stolen from pay sites.

So be careful where you get your models from.

Blendswap, sketchfab, and turbosquid are legitimate sites. Some of the models on sketchfab and turbosquid cost money to use, but they also have some freebies available.

On the other hand, TF3DM is NOT a good site to use. It is my understanding that most of the content there is stolen.

Also, be careful to honor whatever licensing agreements come with the models. Some are free to use, others require that you credit the author, for example.

With my response ... I meant specifically how the Nexus would / should view it.

They cannot risk their hosting liability if you were to want to publish a mod having assets of questionable legal liability. Cuz you the site user are not responsible legally ... it is them for making it freely accessible .

How you get around their legal liability is your business ... not making suggestions either ... just explaining :geek:
