Kry11ic
So, I've look around a bit (not thoroughly, so this might exist, but none that I found) and I haven't seen any "better marriages" mod, only mods that let you marry more people at once or have new people you can marry. I'm requesting a complete overhaul of Marriage in Skyrim. Now, knowing that it would be difficult to change the scripts for the NPCs that are already in the game for marriage, I was thinking either completely get rid of the scripts that allow you to marry those people (so you can't have the option to marry them) or just leave them alone. Anyways, I was thinking instead of modifying the current marriage system, it would be made from scratch. I was thinking the process of this new marriage system would be: - New NPCs to marry. - Each have their own unique side quest so that you can get to know them better and bond with them (gain an actual connection with them). - Process of setting up the marriage and getting married will be longer. - You can choose where you want to get married (obviously, this means there will need to be new areas put throughout the world where you can get married at, i.e. a new section in the Temple of Kynareth where you can get married). Each spouse will desire a different section, and you can ask them where, but you can ignore them and choose your own place. If you choose where they want to go, you will have a better relationship to start off with. If you ignore them, you will have a bad relationship to start with. - Once married, you have the ability to do certain activities with your wife (i.e. take them on a date, give them jewelry or clothing, or take them places they want to go). Doing these things for your wife will improve your relationship, and this will benefit you because she will cook better food for you and cook it more often, her store will have a better discount for you when you shop there, and she'll give you more money for your share of the profits from the store. If you ignore your wife, all of these things will go down, and if you ignore her for an extended period of time, she'll want a divorce. If you get a divorce, you cannot marry that NPC again. If anyone has any comments, concerns, or suggestions, please post in the comments. Otherwise, let me know if anyone is willing to work on this, and I will do whatever I can to help, even though my knowledge of modding is limited. I could, though, make the new NPCs (not any scripting though, sorry). You can contact me on this thread or send me a personal message. I can do male voices for husbands, and also create the NPCs, like I posted. But I know very little on scripting and quests :P
ImJustAGamer
Sounds good so far. But I personally would like to keep the standard NPC's for marriage but I they should be improved. First, I hoped that Bethessda would make such nice characters for Skyrim like Obsidian did in Fallout New Vegsa (yes, I love them all... despite of Boone... I don't like Boone) but sadly I was dissapointed. Same with the original marriage option. I really were hoping for something interesting like combating the orc who was actually supposed to marry Borgakh to marry her. But... the only thing I had to do was paying her some septime and she started following me :/ Another point I disliked was the fact that everyone can marry everyone regardless of age or gender. Would like to get a change for that too since a world with an entire bisexual population just seems ridicoulus. Anyway this option would also be great for your planned NPC's. For example If you're male and you want to marry a male NPC who isn't gay (could be somehow part of the script, I'm not familiar with scripting) he could react confused in the matter of "Eeeerrrr.... dude, you know I'm a guy. Do you?'" or something like that. A bit more personality. As for the vanilly NPC's you could try to expand their script but I bet this would mess some things up. Anyway, I'm supporting this idea and hope you'll get started soon.

As I'm sure you would know, I would do this myself, but I'm sure it requires scripting, which I don't know how to do, or at least making new dialogue set up and quest stages, which I know how to do, but I find it very irritating, and I only know the very basics. It will definitly. There some tutorials out there but I tried one of them to create an follower for Fallout NV but it didn't worked. I've managed him to follow me but there were no dialogue and stuff. You could also try to find someone who is skilled in this and ask him/her for help. Anyway, if you need some ideas for the new NPC's too I have plenty of these. Seshiri
this isn't going to be one of those one sided mods that caters to the guys out there is it? I often wonder why there isn't anything for us girls our there. I see alot of chicks as follower and such but not very many guys and if i do they often have a very feminine homosexual look to them. I WANT A MAN! With hair on his chest and the like idea in this mod set to the guys. With included guys propose to girl characters!!!!! I am being demanding hear me roar! lol! I'm being a lame dork. No but seriously it would be nice to see more done for us ladies out there. AP is catering to the boys we girls want more romance than hard core porn and watnot. Krovi
If only I had a better computer, I would start "learnin' the good ol' trade of modding as mah gran'pa used to do back n' them old days" I like to describe myself as a strong supporter of Marriage mods and I'm eager to learn and start working on it...but I need money :/ /LOL
