LOKITYZ
Today i had an enlightment... I spent the past 3 days reinstalling my Skyrim, trying to point out the source of my problems; frequent, inconsistent, and random ctd's. Today, in my most recent reinstallation, with minimum mods, I thought i finally nailed it... I was playing for hours with no problem, then ctd, and the pattern repeats itself. At that moment i realized, it's time for me to retire from the skyrim world. It was a sign that enough is enough, i have fully played skyrim, even though i never beat the game. I've spent hundreds of hours in the skyrim world, and it was a blast! Thanks to all modders for the awesome mods and bethesda for the awesome but incredibly unstable game. I played oblivion for years thanks to modders and the fact that i almost never experienced ctds made me keep going. Too bad I can't say the same for Skyrim, even though i had a much better time playing Skyrim. At least i can focus on studying for exams now.... Has anyone else reached their breaking point? scot
I had constant random CTD after patch 1.3, I tried everything and nothing seemed to work so what I did was played other games and did other stuff while waiting for the next patch and after it still crashed and I did everything again and figure out that the 1.4 CTD was due to the HD textures mods.Never crashed since then.Although my problem were HD texture mods in patch 1.3 it wasn´t, I even reinstall my windows and cleaned everything, reinstalled steam and skyrim with no mods at all only the 1.3 patch and still crashed, before patch 1.3 never crashed, after, only with HD texture mods.Just wait for the next patch and it might work, or perhaps it´s a mod that used to work and now it doesn´t like it happened to me. memlapse
I'm getting close. Gonna shelve it soon and won't fire it back up until September when the DLC becomes available. I may check back from time to time to wee what the modders are up to.
MorwynKelm
I'm done. Been playing LoG and loving it, amazing fun and it just WORKS! No CTDs, no screwy display problems, no stutters, it's just perfect and it reminded me that gaming is supposed to be FUN! :) Edited May 4, 2012 by Morwyn Kelm
Georgiegril
@ Went to your link, that reminds me of old Hexen :-) Do you play all the characters simulateously? Is there a coop version? That does look fun. I am not sick of Skyrim, but I have a demented enjoyment of finding ways to fix computer problems.
SubjectProphet
Lol, my Alienware runs Skyrim on Ultra perfectly since the day I bought the game. I played BF3 on max settings all day long. I remember playing Oblivion forever on the highest settings possible and graphic extenders and never having a melt down on my graphics card. I've never had a problem in gaming with this computer, unless it's Steam-related.
Systex
I'm trying to fix Skyrim problems more than actually playing the game, patch 1.5 basically killed my Skyrim. I'm mostly playing LoTRO nowadays.

You can get it DRM-free and cheap from Grimrock.net, Steam or GoG.com and it's an INDIE game so support it! :)
