Eno Hlaalu - Threads of the Webspinner

The Eno Hlaal guy in Vivec who's Morag Tong Grandmaster, gives writs and special duties. I've gained enough quests and advancement to ebnable special duties. According to wiki-like pages, he is supposed to give me the quest "Threads of the Webspinner", which is his first special duty. To enable this quest, web says I have to talk about "Sanguine Items" and "Threads of the Webspinner" topics, to find out there are 26 artifacts, etc. However, there are no such topics on his list. I'm a master now and still nothing. Only three topics about sanguine belt and two other artifacts are present, but they were quest-bound and lead nowhere. The console also doesn't recognize missing topics, when I try to add them manually. Without this, I can't set up the quest and I can't give him any artifact I posess. Like this quest wouldn't even exist. I always browse the entire web before I ask for help, but I couldn't find anything - known journal entries do not include starting the quest, and there is no way to find out the topic ID. I've made my Morag Tong career just as god wanted, with no cheats, shortcuts or console use.

 

Does anybody know this problem?

Not heard of that one. Are you using mods? Maybe a mod's blocking those topics. I'd try a grep tool (I use Textcrawler, there are many) and search in your Data Files folder for *.es? files containing the string "sanguine items". Maybe a mod has intentionally / unintentionally disabled / overwritten the topics.

Besides three houses mod, they have nothing to do with plot, they are all about modelling and texturing. I tried using TES Construction, but Eno Hlaalu's script only includes positions what happens if I give him an artifact, but there is no possibility to add the topic manually in this editor or dig out the script of the quest itself.

I've just downloaded Textcrawler, "sanguine" is for items only, for quest there is "threads" or "webspinner" to type. I got the result below by searching "webspinner" phrase. But I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it, I tried to add manually the topic using most probable topic names written down here, but still nothing. The console accepted "Set ThreadsWebspinner to ThreadsWebspinner + 1" command, but there's no change.

The idea of using Textcrawler was to identify which mods contain the dialogue topic, so they could be disabled. I guess it only found it in morrowind.esm?

 

So looks like you've run into some kind of bug in the base game. I would've suggested some console work, but you've tried that.

 

I can't see anything on UESP which helps either. I'm afraid I really don't know what to suggest.

Yes, morrowind.esm only. It is there anyway, so maybe there is a way to enable it. I will try to install morrowind fix patch I've seen avaiable. If it remains unsolved, I will just collect sanguines for myself and I'll use console commands to add te Hlaalu reward spell. Shame, it seemed to be a nice quest.
