mutilator420
As stated SKSE64 wont launch. When I double click on skse64_loader.exe , a cmd window pops up for a split second, the screen goes black for about 3 seconds and then nothing. I am right back to desktop without any errors. I can confirm that I am running the latest Skyrim SE (version 1.5.39.08) and the latest corresponding SKSE64 build (2.0.7) downloaded from http://skse.silverlock.org, and have everything installed in the correct folder(s). (skse64_loader.exe, skse64_steam_loader.dll, skse64_1_5_39.dll in the Skyrim Special Edition install folder (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition) and the scripts installed using Nexus mod manager, though I have also tried just putting them in the data folder manually. Things I have tried to solve this: running skse64_loader.exe as administrator, running with NO MODS at all, running with 1 and/or 2 skse64 dependent mods, reinstalling steam to the same drive as my skyrimSE install to eliminate any possible and unknown permission issues, redownloading/reinstalling the game, verifying install of game files multiple times, installing SSE fixes mod, running SKSE64 through the mod manager, disabling antivirus softwares, rolling back the main executable (SkyrimSE.exe) and installing all the corresponding SKSE64 builds all the way back to 2.0.4 and launching with steam in offline mode all with the same result. I have even tried running the game on my other machine (which has the game installed on my boot drive which is an SSD and currently has no other drives installed) and STILL cannot launch the game with the SKSE64 launcher. I can also confirm that running the game via the normal launcher works as it should. At this point I have run completely out of ideas. Its not like I dont know how to install SKSE as I have done so on multiple occasions successfully with the old skyrim, and the installation process is pretty much the same as the old skyrim. I also know that there are others who are running the game without problems on this version and all of the other versions that I have attempted. So if anyone has any other things I could try please let me know. Any help would be appreciated. I realize this post is long winded but I wanted to include as much information as I could and to answer all the questions that I have seen in reply to other people who have made similar posts. If it is of any relevance I'm running windows 7. I am also going to be including the log files from the C:\Users\****\Documents\My games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE folder. There are no log files created from SKSE64 in my SSE install directory as SKSE hasn't even created a folder in my install directory. (I have also tried manually creating them) These logs are created when attempting to launch the game via the SKSE64 launcher with no other mods installed and running as administrator. skse64.log:SKSE64 runtime: initialize (version = 2.0.7 01050270 01D3ED9068DCAEC1, os = 6.1 (7601))imagebase = 000000013F050000reloc mgr imagebase = 000000013F050000config path = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\skse.iniplugin directory = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\dispatch message (0) to plugin listenersno listeners registereddispatch message (1) to plugin listenersno listeners registeredinit complete skse64_steam_loader.log:skse64 loader 02000070 (steam) 01D3ED9067D76FEE 6.1 (7601)loader base addr = 000007FEC6230000exe base addr = 000000013F050000found iat at 0000000140573898original thunk 000007FED41F1000patched iatHookMain: thread = 9104 retaddr = 00000001403B28B9runtimePath = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\SkyrimSE.exedwSignature = FEEF04BDdwStrucVersion = 00010000dwFileVersionMS = 00010000dwFileVersionLS = 00000000dwProductVersionMS = 00010000dwProductVersionLS = 00000000dwFileFlagsMask = 00000017dwFileFlags = 00000000dwFileOS = 00000004dwFileType = 00000001dwFileSubtype = 00000000dwFileDateMS = 00000000dwFileDateLS = 00000000productVersionStr = 1.5.39.0version = 0001000500270000product name = TESV: Skyrimsteam exedll = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\\skse64_1_5_39.dll skse64_loader.log:skse64 loader 02000070 01D3ED9067CBAFF2 6.1 (7601)config path = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\skse.iniprocPath = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\\SkyrimSE.exelaunching: SkyrimSE.exe (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\\SkyrimSE.exe)dwSignature = FEEF04BDdwStrucVersion = 00010000dwFileVersionMS = 00010000dwFileVersionLS = 00000000dwProductVersionMS = 00010000dwProductVersionLS = 00000000dwFileFlagsMask = 00000017dwFileFlags = 00000000dwFileOS = 00000004dwFileType = 00000001dwFileSubtype = 00000000dwFileDateMS = 00000000dwFileDateLS = 00000000productVersionStr = 1.5.39.0version = 0001000500270000product name = TESV: Skyrimsteam exedll = D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\\skse64_1_5_39.dllmain thread id = 9104hookBase = 0000000000160000loadLibraryAAddr = 0000000076D56510hook thread completelaunching Edited May 17, 2018 by mutilator420
williaal2
Thane you tried backing up then deleting the Skyrim sse folder in my documents, then running the main launcher to create a new one?
Deleted3897072User
Your log files look normal. Is it perhaps something to do with your Steam connection?
yzerman19
I was having problems running skse64 also...but then I figured I had mistakenly used SKSE normal version for SSE. All I did was load up SKSE64 and AWAY WE GO!
ChevalierDHarmental
Sorry for attaching myself to OP's request but I am in the exact same situation and have pretty much tried the same steps as him but SKSE64 suddenly refuses to launch, regardless if tried from MO2 or directly from the Skyrim folder, whereas it worked fine just hours ago. Yes disabling/enabling all mods, reinstalling the game/skse64 etc. I tried all that too, just like OP. I also made sure that it's the right SE version. Would be thankful for any ideas/suggestions. (the game starts and runs without skse)
DarkAllegiance
Hey, I also butt in here, SKSE stopped working after latest update few days ago. Tried with all mods, without all mods, reinstall Skyrim SE, and all that. Got SKSE 2.0.8Problem persists. Trying to launch SKSE gives a black box for few seconds and that´s it, no warnings or anything. Googling helps none, since I have no warnings. just launcher that starts up and dies about instantly. RowelSvir
a little bit late for this and I'm new in skyrim and i finished the game.. Now I want to use mods to enlighten myself. I found this same issue where skse won't launch after that black box and no warnings or errors then i found that a plugin is what's preventing the launcher to .. launch
