strawbqwerty
I wanted to check the integrity of the game files. Steam does not register that I have skyrim se already installed . Just gives me the option to install the game. So far I am not having a good run.
williaal2
Is this a fully modded game? Anyway the only answer I can think of is to click on install, then steam will check for local files which if you have your Skyrim directory in the common directory in your steam apps folder will find the installation. You then verify after it finished.
strawbqwerty
Thanks for the reply. That hopefully won`t mean a full reinstall. It is a modded game but that should not be a problem.
scipher99
Steam will verify files and replace only SE files missing from base game all your mods will be fine but you will have to re-clean the install with xedit again after. So next time you do a fresh install (base game no mods) copy the SE directory to another location after xedit clean so you only have to drag and drop the cleaned files back in saves a lot of time. Alerios
You've got the same problem as mine. One thing to do is to find the "Appmanifest" who's related to SSE, I think it's "appmanifest_489830" in the Steam library and copy/past him when Steam want to download again your SSE. Shut off steam, copy the old one (the one that you've copied when Steam don't want to re-download SSE) and paste him in the library, reload steam and your problem should be off. I do the same with my heavily modded, Fallout 4, NV, Skyrim and SSE when the error comes. Edited May 27, 2018 by Alerios
tomomi1922
Thanks for the reply. That hopefully won`t mean a full reinstall. It is a modded game but that should not be a problem. In a nutshell, the game is detached from your mods. Things you should care about: - Data folder where all your mods are - SKSE64, ENB, Reshade ... those are easy to reinstall, and fast. - Skyrim.ini, SkyrimPref.ini, and plugin.txt (especially important if you don't have a mod manager). - Your savegames. Reinstalling Skyrim will not wipe any of the above. Maybe the .ini files. But everything should remain untouched even if you uninstall the game.
