Placed object persistence

Recommended Posts

I am fairly new to the render window so excuse the simple questions.

In placing items in the world I see that most are temporary but some are inexplicably marked persistent. I get that script or quest attached objects will be persistent as may LinkedRef or Parented, but Static and MovableStatic objects with no scripts or links, not so much:

[REFR:04000FA3] (places Beercrate_Moveable "Crate" [MSTT:001AE1F9] in GRUP Cell Persistent Children of [CELL:00018AA2] (in Commonwealth "Commonwealth" [WRLD:0000003C]) at -23,-13)

a. Why is one beer crate or metalshelf, marked persistent and not all of them ?

b. Apart from deleting and recreating is there any way to unpersist them ?

The only thing I can think of is that sometimes the developers at Bathesda missclick a marker and end up linking events to random objects instead... This might have happened to your beer crate or metal shelf... But this whole answer might just be s#*!, as I'm not all knowing and am basically a Noob to world space as well...

Thing is that these are static items I am placing myself ... sometimes they are persistent and sometimes not. Like they are getting sucked into groups or collections without me doing anything. Just odd.

I’ve noticed that items that have linked refs (or are linked to from another ref) tend to fairly often be flagged as persistent. Map markers and XMarkerheadings which are linked are consistently set as persistent for me.

But as been noted, the consistency is inconsistent. I’ve had workbenches and cooking stations linked to a red settlement workbench that were not persistent but containers that were not linked shown as persistent. The mind boggles.
