canisoftlykissu
i have this rug that is always purple, i know it means the texture is missing or cant be found so i opened up the creation kit and messed around a bit and i believe i found the problem. i am missing materials\practicallyInvisible.bgsm, i am not a modder, but it appears to be some sort of shader, i am guessing that some mod i installed somehow deleted or changed it. can anyone possibly send that to me so i can drop it into my data folder and see if it fixes my rugs? it is driving me nuts cause the rug is in many different locations. i do have bae and i kind of looked for it but if its missing i don't think i am gonna find it (using logic there lol) and i am not really sure where i would find it, what sub-group it would be in (hope that makes sense) any help would be appreciated cheerssharyn
WastelandAssassin
are you saying you are missing something from the original game? because if so , just verify file integrity on Steam , it should find the missing filesor , if this item comes from a mod , you'll need to check which mod adds it (or modifies these textures , if you have a mod that does this)the weird thing is , if this is a file from the original game , I somehow doubt you could be missing just this file , as it should be a part of an archive , not a loose fileso it sounds like either a mod you have installed has messed this file up , or you are missing a requirement of a mod (maybe?) canisoftlykissu
i have verified the the files, doesn't fix the issue. it has to be a mod i guess. i think i should have known that cause when i looked in the creation kit the rug is the small mat, but in the creation kit it says it is playerhouse_rug01 which is a large rug. (heavy sigh) i will have to try to figure out which mod is causing this. thank you for your time :-) cheerssharyn
WastelandAssassin
I don't know if this will work (I've never tried it on any workshop item) , but if you can spawn one of those rugs in game , enter console and click on it , you should see an IDif the ID is usable for you , it will start with two alphanumerical letters , which represent the position of the plugin responsible for this item in your load orderso this could help you identify which plugin is responsible (but again , never tried it on a workshop item , so I can't say if it should provide a usable ID)
canisoftlykissu
i got the item name and id from the creation kit, i knew where one was located and went to that cell in the creation kit and clicked on it, that's how i found the material\practicallyinvisible.bsgm was missing, it came up in the warning after i clicked the rug. the really tough part about tracking down which mod could cause this is it could be any mod because it is a shader, so it is not necessarily assigned to only one item type. i am probably going to have to uninstall all my mods, re-verify and see if the texture shows up, then re-install one by one the mods til it disappears, i think i feel a headache coming on lol. JimmyRJump
found the problem mod, cozy beds, had to delete playerhouse_rug01.nif from fallout4\data\meshes\setdressing\playerhouse. That issue was reported in the mod's bug section on 15 June 2016 (second entry)... Installing the mod manually fixes the issue; also mentioned in the same bug thread on 25 December 2016. It shows again you need to read everything about a mod.
