Belfaborac
No doubt a silly question, but what the heck. I've got FNV installed in the usual Steam location and I'm wondering if it is possible to do a non-Steam install somewhere else without buggering up the original install? JimboUK
Fallout NV requires Steam and Stream won't let you have two installations, there may be a way around it but not any way that can be discussed here.
bben46
Not in the way you are thinking. However there is a way.http://oblivion.nexu...le.php?id=35263This works for FONV as well as for Oblivion FO3 & Nehrim The reason you cannot just make a copy is when it installed, FONV makes some entries in the windows registry that tell it where to find its files. Any copy of the game will not change those and the entries will still point to the old files. Reinstalling in a new location overwrites those entries and the original install will no longer have access to it's files. I wrote a couple of batch files to swap games for Oblivion, and posted them some years ago, But the Mtes4manager is far superior to my attempts to have 2 copies of Oblivion at the same time. I have not tried this with FONV, only with Oblivion and Fallout3, I don't use steam for either of these, but do use it for FONV
Belfaborac
Excellent, that you very much for pointing out mTES4! I assumed it was impossible, for the reasons both of you mention, but I thought it was worth checking just in case. In any case, this will make getting my games buggered up by mods a lot easier, so thanks again!
