Make Your Own Racials In-game

Hey, I went over this in the Bethesda Forums and I was wondering if anyone here was interesting in implementing the idea into an actual mod.

The idea is that when you start the game, you get to choose up to two Racials and you get to set your starting stats as well.

Now, the list of racials is thoroughly balanced (okay maybe not that much but enough) and it allows you to make good base characters without getting too crazy.

It allows you to give flavorful racials to any race from scratch, and to create your own subraces out of existing races.

So, here would be some racials.

First, a cycle for people who want to play it safe:

Highlander - Resist to Frost 30%, Fortify Health 15

Thick Skinned - Resist to Fire 30%, Fortify Health 15

Bark Skin - Resist to Shock 30%, Fortify Health 15

Ancient Race - Resist to Frost 30%, Fortify Magicka 25

Infernal Pact - Resist to Fire 30%, Fortify Magicka 25

Stormlord - Resist to Shock 30%, Fortify Magicka 25

Three double-edged sets for casters:

Daedric Ascendancy - Weakness to Shock 40%, Fortify Magicka 40, Fortify Health 25

Lich Aura - Weakness to Fire 40%, Fortify Magicka 40, Fortify Health 25

Flamekin - Weakness to Frost 40%, Fortify Magicka 40, Fortify Health 25

Misc. bonuses:

Aquatic: Fortify Magicka 10, Resist to Disease 50%, Resist to Poison 50%, Water Breathing

Granite Skinned: Resist to Paralysis 50%, Resist Normal Weapons 5%, Fortify Fatigue 20

Magic Attuned: Resist Magicka 10%, Fortify Magicka 15

Photosynthetic: During the day, Fortify Health 35, Fortify Magicka 30, Sun Healing 2

Night-stalker: During the night, Fortify Health 35, Fortify Magicka 25, Constant Chameleon 5%

Spellgorger: Damage Health 15, Spell Absorb 15%

Anathema: Stunted Magicka, Fortify Health 20, Resist Magicka 10%

Some come with greater powers:

Gorgon Visage - Weakness to Shock of 25%, Fortify Magicka 30 and a Greater Power that allows you to turn enemies into stone.

Nimble - Fortify Fatigue 40, a Greater Power that increases your speed and agility by a huge amount and grants Water Walking for 60 secs.

Barbaric - Resist Normal Weapons 5%, and a Greater Power that increases endurance, strength, agility and fatigue for 60 secs.

Stoic - Resist Magicka 5%, and a Greater Power that increases resistance to normal weapons by 50% for 60 secs.

Persuasive - Resist Paralysis 45%, a Greater Power that Calms a target for 20 secs, and a Lesser Power that Charms a target for for 30 secs. The magnitude of these effects is equal to your Personality attribute.

Prowler - Constant Chameleon 10%, a Lesser Power that gives Night Eye, and a Lesser Power that gives Detect Life.

Beastlore - Beasts don't attack you. Resist Disease 25%, Resist Poison 25%, and a Greater Power to Command Creature for 60 secs. The magnitude of this effect is equal to your Willpower attribute.

Demontongue - Weakness to Magic 15%, Fortify Health 45, and a Greater Power to Command Humanoid for 60 secs. The magnitude of this effect is equal to your Intellect attribute.

Savage - Grants a Greater Power that Demoralizes targets within 20 ft, and a Greater Power that Dispels self, Cures Disease and Cures Poison. The magnitude of these effects are equal to your Strength attribute.

Guardian Ancestor - Resist Magic 30%, Damage Health 15, Damage Magicka 20, grants a Greater Power that summons a spirit to defend you, with level equal to yours.

Scorching Touch - Resist Fire 25%, Resist Frost 25%, grants a Greater Power that disintegrates Weapon and Armor on touch. The magnitude of this effect is equal to twice your Agility attribute.

So, any interest?

I think you are misstaking...., (as useuall) m8

Choosing up to two races would be more than just simply adding extra abbilaties.

(you could make a lot of "half" races ..., I guess)

I don't think it's doable though

Oh, not races, "racials". That is racial abilities, like Orc's Berserk or Argonian Water Breathing.

If this mod would be done, it would be for players to select the best racials for their characters.

Oké....., I stand corrected.

but still ..., its the chosing at charecter creation that's the hard bit..., you could make npcs that'll train the pc in that, like the Gry Prince does after you finisch his quest.

Oh, my idea was a Ring of Origins given to you as soon as you exit the Sewers or at the beginning of the game, which erases your racials and gives you the new ones.

you would need alot of rings....

Why so, Elliot?

Just one ring to erase current racials and pop-up a window with four buttons: Racial 1, Racial 2, Reset, Done.

Clicking into Racial 1 will give you the list of Racials and you'll be able to choose one.

Same for Racial 2.

Reset sets your racials back to your premade ones.

Done saves the changes.
