Robeloto Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 MY specs are I7 [email protected] with 32GB DDR4 Ram and GTX 1080 Ti. I use ENBseries (Skyrim SE Re-Engaged V6.1a (ENB Only)-1089-6-1a) with the following mods that alter lights, graphics etc. Enhanced Lights and FX-2424-3-06NAT Stand Alone - 0.4.2 c-12842-0-4-2cObsidian Weathers 1.05-12125-1-05 This is how it looks in whiterun. The lighting looks very bad and it is like an overlapping light that disappears if you get closer.https://streamable.com/4ohtc Rest of the mods I use is shown in the picture below. Showed some ENB settings I use. I have tried with the default settings and it looks even worse. Please help!
BlueGunk Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Wow - weird. I see you have the Sun Daytime north and south esps, I believe these are Majestic Mountains? The author recommends not to use these with ENB. I would also remove ELFX Weathers as it should not be used with another weather mod. Hope that helps some!
tomomi1922 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Wow, I got to say the fog looks so nice. I think I know your problem, whichever weather mod creates the fake fog causes this. What is “fake” fog? In general fog is considered special effects like particles, lens flare, etc... So fake fog is actually 3D mesh with some muddy/misty transparency hanging in the air. It looks really nice I must admit. Just the transition is really not immersive. If I am right, you may consider removing 1 weather mod, like BlueGunk said. Having double doesn’t always mean double the coolness. You have both NAT and Osidian. For ENB, try turning ENB on and off to see if it’s still there. If it is, ENB has nothing to do with this.
Algabar Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 In addition to Bluegunk: You have not only two, but three (!) weather mods installed at the same time: NAT, Obsidian and ELFX Weathers. That's a big "no-no". Weather mods are practically mutually exclusive. You should only use one at a time. If you like those mountains veiled in fog and clouds from Obsidian weathers, you CAN use this plugin with ANY weather mod you like:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13539 Apart from that: One weather mod only. As soon as you've decided on your favorite weather mod, make sure to use an ENB preset tailored to this weather mod. At least the most popular ENBs like ReEngaged, NVT, RUDY, PhoenixVivid, Keizaal etc. offer presets for different weather mods.

Yes, I realized I had way too many weather mods and they kinda collided with each other. I removed the ELFX weather now. So now I use only these weather and lighting mods : Re engaged + ELFX main file + Obsidian. Wow, I got to say the fog looks so nice. The overlapping part was really weird though. xD Yes, I know I had several weather mods installed. I solved this by not running too many weather mods at once lol. I did not even knew I had replies to this thread. I was going to explain that removing NAT fixed it. It took a lot of time before I realized this was the problem. Using so many weather mods at the same time is kinda crazy, or maybe even really stupid. xD I uninstalled NAT and ELFX weathers The game looks a lot better now! So atm I use Re engaged with Obsidian weathers and ELFX main file. That should be alright? Edited June 4, 2018 by Robeloto
Algabar Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I uninstalled NAT and ELFX weathers The game looks a lot better now! So atm I use Re engaged with Obsidian weathers and ELFX main file. That should be alright? Glad your games looks better now. ^^ And yes, ELFX main and Obsidian is perfectly fine. You CAN also use the "ELFX Enhancer" plugin, if you like darker dungeons. I did that - together with Obsidian - and everything worked and looked fine. OFC, that's a matter of personal taste - I like it, when magelights or torches really have a meaning.

I also have a low light on my display (0% brightness), cause my eyes get kinda irritated when it is too bright. The bad thing about that is that I cannot play on the days. I've got too many windows and blinds doesn't help that much. xD It gets a bit better on the evenings and nights, but I live in north of Sweden so atm I have the midnight sun. So it never gets dark again until late summer. Edited June 5, 2018 by Robeloto
tomomi1922 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I didn't catch you were running both NAT, EFLX Weather, and Osidian... You only need one. More isn't always better. In this case, it doesn't seem to crash your game but, as you can see, they all try to pile up their "features" to make your game look good, and it feels too "crowded" with effects.I use PRT (I think it gives me tons of options to tweak). I once used Re-engaged. For light + weather I use ELFX + Osidian + Truestorms. I tried ELE + Relighting. These 2 mods were made by 1 person and meant to be working together as one comprehensive mod like ELFX. ELFX ruins Riften's Yarl throne room (light everywhere, like a factory). ELE + Relighting makes Riften's Yarl throne room looks so good ... but ruins Whiterun's Dragonreach. However, the deal breaking factor of ELE + Relighting is that it makes a lot of town fires way too bright. Like in Whiterun, outside the tavern, it looks like a nuclear reactor. If I tweaked the light down (I think I am pretty good at that) then all lights everywhere else looks so dark. So back to EFLX for me, way more consistent performance.Osidian, Vivid Weather, NAT, ... I can't figure out which is best (or worst) for me, especially without comparing side by side. I used to have Vivid, and tried COT (I used that 5 years ago), and now settled for Osidian for their "seasonal FX" and perhaps beautiful sunset which I still yet to see. But hey, it doesn't produce anything ugly, so it stays in my game. Yes I also use ELFX Enhancer.

After trying them out one by one, I liked Obsidian the most. The strangest thing happened though after I uninstalled the other weather mods. I do not know if the uninstallation of the weather mods was the cause of it. All NPCs have a hollow neck when decapitated. You can check my other thread if you perhaps know any solution to this.
