Different Mods Using the Same Merchant

Question: Why is it when i have a few mods installed that adds items for sale from the same vendor, the only item that i am

able to buy is the item from the mod that is last in my mod load order?

 

Switching my mods around always makes the (lowest on my mod load order list) mod item available to buy.

Looking in the CS the items are all properly placed in the Venders sale chest, but they dont work together

do i need to make individual chests for the vendor and dump items from 1 mod into each individual chest?

If this problem is common and only 1 mod will work per vendor at any one time, then maybe modders should make

unique chests to keep them seperate?

 

The only work around i have at the moment is to install the mod, buy the item, exit the game, change my load order,

log back in, buy the next item.... etc, bit of a game breaker

Because you can't "add" items to a vendor, you can only modify the vendor chest by adding items. Only the last "modification" takes precedence.

 

You can't make more than 1 chest per vendor.

 

The only real solution for the modmaker is to make a new chest and then use a quest to force spawn a totally new vendor. Which is coincidentally what I'm doing right now. Trying to figure out where to put the chest is something else though. You want to put it out of the way, but not so far out of the way that someone else will have the same idea.

hey thanks for the confirmation.

 

besides my work-around which i posted, the other thing i am doing is moving the items from the

orginal vedor and putting it in anothers vendors chest (a vendor whos chest thats been un-modified)

 

i realise now why so many new weapons and armors are craftable only, makes it easier. Im pretty

sure Oblivion didnt have this problem.
