Atari co-founder Ted Dabney dead – video games pioneer and Pong co-creator passes away aged 81

RIP. He lived a long life, and got to see what games became. That's pretty amazing if you think about it.. to see so much evolution in one lifetime.

The first game I was told existed on computers, built in 1957, could produce the game, "Tic Tac Toe"

 

Allan Alcorn created Pong as a training exercise assigned to him by Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell. Seems to be quite a number of people were involved in creating Pong.

 

Surprised by the quality of Alcorn's work, Bushnell and Atari co-founder Ted Dabney decided to manufacture the game.

 

Little tidbits arise as the giant slumbers.
