StevetheKoala
I have ported Usure - Skyrim Nightmare to Special Edition (I'd love to link the page, but the forums don't appear to be allowing me to copy/paste). The author has not been active since 2016 and has not updated the file since 2014. I have placed an inquiry as to whether I might be allowed to post my port, but I'm not expecting a response. What is proper etiquette regarding these situations? Would it be acceptable if I posted a copy of the port to the comments section of his mod, for those who do not want/know how to port the mod themselves? Frankly, I'd rather not be banned from the Nexus, as there is a lot of great content here, so I'd appreciate if someone would be willing to help. Thank you! M48A5
I suggest you review the Terms and Policies (link at the top of this and every page). If you do not have the original author's permission, you cannot upload the mod. No exceptions and no excuses. Edited May 30, 2018 by M48A5
LadyMilla
We require explicit permissions (unless the mod was uploaded as "free to use"). If you cannot obtain explicit permission for any reason (the author is inactive or does not respond to your request), you do not have permission and you may not upload the mod in question. Furthermore, there is no "dead man clause" on the Nexus - the mod author's permissions remain effective indefinitely (at least until the expiration of the copyright). If the mod author did not specify any permissions (again, you have no explicit permission in this case), then by default you should assume that the mod is NOT free to use.
