macole
It would be like King Author returning with Excalibur to save England in hour of greatest need. Why should that story soil anything? History is full of prophecies of that sort and the Elder Scrolls is if nothing else a book of prophecies. Would have made a good story with all the other stuff going on to have the true emperor return to take on the usurper Imperials, the rebel Nords and the Thalmer. Georgiegril
The problem with returning heroes is that the folklore usually exceeds the reality. Imagine King Arthur returning, sword in hand, to "save" England during the Blitz? Kinda anticlimactic.
Adrius2
I like to believe that Martin now exists as the barrier keeping the Daedra from invading Mundus. Perhaps all of the Septims are part of the barrier in fact, since he shattered the amulet's soulstone which contained all previous emperors as well. Dannyliuss
Isn't Martin dead? Well, not exactly. He was transformed into a dragon, then transformed into a statue, not a corpse. He didn't actually die. Perhaps the statue is a living statue. Ossified, unable to move, but still able to perceive his surroundings and nearby events. nah man as much as i miss martin too he is long dead its been 200 years he transformed into the dragon and when it was made statue martins body was literally not existent anymore and his soul ought to be in i dont know what heaven its called i mean its not soverngarde cus thats where nords go not imperials but at the en martin gave his life for the world think of it that way
Zazoomah
Uh.... We know where the statue is. It's the statue of Akatosh in the Market District in the Imperial City. Martin is about as dead as he can be. Temple District* I agree though. He'll probably stay dead and the empire will have to move on with another bloodline of kings. Aw s*** that would be boring as hell!
Rennn
It's probably better he was a martyr. There's enough fanfiction about him as it is.
groupoffriends
I think that he won the battle against Mehrunes Dagon. So he didn't die. If he'd lost the battle, we could say he died. But the Amulet does not kill anyone. It transforms him into a legendary hero dragon! Just a thought.
Tidus44
One wonders if the statue even exists any longer in the Imperial City. Skyrim lore suggests the Thalmor conquered the Imperial City and sacked it. Given the disrespect of the Thalmor to Tiber Septim (Talos), one wonders if they destroyed the statue honoring Martin Septim, a Talos descendant.
