Dogmeat's name is in french bug/codsworth not talking

so i headed to the red rocket truck stop for the first time and noticed dogmeat wasn't named dogmeat but instead canigou i speak English and i haven't changed the language settings to french i do have mods installed here they are. Adventurer Outfit - Adventurer Outfit 2K

I have uninstalled Full Dialogue interface to see if that was it. it wasn't that. also i cannot talk to codsworth when i first come out of the vault

Do you use a mod manager to install mods? If so, which one and what version.

 

Do you use LOOT (Load Order Optimisation Tool) to sort load order?

 

Did you install all these mods and then start a new game?

 

Did you completely uninstall Full Dialogue Interface or just deactivate it?

I would reacquire the game files in Steam, and then clean the game masters, as a starting point.

Well, it's never a good idea to install a truckload of mods right off the bat without knowing which ones work properly and which don't. I started my most recent run (550 hours in) with 600 mods and 275 plug-ins (21 esl, the rest esp and esm) and everything works, but that's because, after almost 14000 hours in the game overall, I know which mods don't cause problems, at least from those I downloaded.

 

You should use the first couple of play-throughs to do some testing by adding a couple of mods at a time until something breaks. If there's no compatability patches, you delete the mod that breaks the game and add another one until it breaks again, and so on and so forth. It took me a couple of thousand hours to reach a stage where I was more or less satisfied with my load order...
