Kataspie
Not sure if this is the right place but wasn't sure where else to put it either. But one of the Admin can feel free to move it should they be so inclined. Now to my question, say you have a favorite piece of armor in game, for instance the Regulator Duster, and you want to modify some of it values in FO3Edit to suit your character more, say add the effects of explosives + 5 and Repair + 5 to the effects already there of CHR +1 and Sm. Guns + 5. How do you do that in FO3 Edit? I'm sort of new to this, I know how to mod effects that are already there just not add new ones. If that is even possible. Also, my using the Regulator Duster was just an example to explain my question.
vforvic
If I am not mistaken if you want to work with the base FO3 stuff directly in the Fallout.esm then you have to use the GECK to work with those values and even then ofcourse it is via an esp. I believe FO3Edit won't modify an esm at all. Now if you want to modify stuff in a mod that is an esp you can do that in FO3Edit. Find your Armor and see what "EITM Object Effect" the Armor has as its enchantment. Then go to that "Object Effect" and you will see what "Effects" that enchantment has in place. Right Click next to "Effects" in the Blank Space. Click on the option that comes up that says "Add". At the bottom of the Effects you will now see a NULL Base Effect. Where it says "NULL - Null Reference [00000000]" you double-click slowly like you were going to directly change the line.To the far right you will see a dropdown list triangle that allows you to pick what effect you want. Then just add the Magnitude number you want, leave Area 0, leave Duration 0, leave Type as Self. Then slow double-click Actor Value to get that same drop down menu to change it to match your Base Effect. For example IncreaseSkillExplosives would be an "Actor Value" of Explosives. MichikoUnknownFox
You can do it in FO3Edit but it's a bit harder than the GECK. In FO3Edit you'd have to copy the item as an override into a new mod file. You can right click the item in FO3Edit for that. But the annoying part is assigning an enchantment to it, because you'll have to make a new enchantment that does what you want, like what vforvic described. Better to do it in the GECK. Kataspie
Thank you, I should note, that I was actually meaning a mod not the base FO3 stuff. However, base FO3 stuff was the first that popped in my mind when I was trying to think of an example. EDIT: I was actually wanting to add some effects to the Dragon Tactical suit from a mod to fortify my favourite skills and make the armor more suited to my character. as the Dragon Tactical is awesome. Eh why is it that the simplest things seem the most difficult to figure out. *smacks forehead*
