quankruger
So I've been having a problem with crashes in attempting to set up a modded playthrough, with an ENB, for my friend. The problem occurs when starting SSE. SSE, when loaded with any type of ENB (I've tried different types) loads a message in the top right corner saying "ENBSeries is compiling game shaders. please wait... Tip: enable shader cache in video driver settings." then Skyrim CTD's before the Bethesda logo pops up. I've made sure the shader cache is enabled, and I've tried running SSE without the ENB and it works fine. I couldn't find anything else like this online with Special Edition, any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a text file with his mod list and PC Specs. nwisth
I started having the exact same problem today - without having installed any new mods. All I'd done was install Nvidia GeForce Experience, trying to figure out how to enable the shader cache. To make a long story short, after trying a ton of stuff - including uninstalling GeForce Experience - and being close to despair, I checked the Steam game properties menu and noticed that "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" was checked. I unchecked the option, and voila! My game worked again. Maybe you can try that. Good luck! :)
quankruger
Thank you for the suggestion, but unfortunately this did not help. Still getting the same crash even with overlay off. He's running multiple displays, also, if that could be an issue. Not sure if that would be.

ubronan
hey, that happened to me days before, its an issue between enbseries and the game, idk what happen with it.... what i did was reinstall the game, then skse and then enbseries...after that all mods or wtvr u have.... for now its workingSadly not true either, i had the exact same however i noticed something weird.I deleted everything but had saved the old game folder. So including the needed enb , reshade and skse files so kinda nothing else. When i backup the newly downloaded files to another folder and restore the same files from the old SSE to the same spot as the game should be before it crashes. Then i did a check file and i saw that the 4 main esm's was being replaced. this was odd because they where the originals before i clean them .....So it looks like something had been changed to them. After they was replaced the game booted up like nothing had ever been wrong, i am completely baffled because its still the same version numbers. So now i am cleaning the masters again and am starting reinstalling all mods i had. To the OP in the mod list are several mods plugins you need to disable to get it running like SoS_CoT_Patch.esp=1 and FlowerGirls SE.esm=1The rest looks alot like i had modded my game and should run fine. So try to start the game after you disabled the not needed mods and if it runs start enable the ones you want again.I also noticed weird behaviour in my game after i installed Apophysis and legacy of the dragonborn, while it had run before perfectly. Then i started to the clear all mods one by one, but it began to crash at every attempt.Even when almost all mods had been disabled it kept crashing for no reason at all.
