gentlesnake
NMM will not let me log in when I try to download a mod. I am logged in on the site but apparently not on the manager itself. I know my password and when I enter it it still does nothing and can't download any mods for F4. I have never had this issue with Skyrim. Any solutions? WastelandAssassin
it's not game related , it's due to the updated servers that older versions of NMM can't communicate withupdate to either 0.65.2 or 0.65.5 (you can find the first through the Download NMM button , and the second via a link on the page that holds the first , as it's hosted on a different site)
gentlesnake
Will this require me to uninstall NMM as I can not update from the client? Will I lose mods or am I okay to just uninstall 0.63.14 and clean install the new version? Thanks, not too keen on this stuff.
WastelandAssassin
you can't update from the client because the version you have can't access the servers , so it can't download the latest versionbut as far as I know , you can just install the new version over the old version , and it shouldn't damage your installed mods or anythingI haven't done this myself , because I use MO2 instead of NMM , but I haven't seen any reports on issues after updating , so I believe it's safe
Vashra1
I was able to just install the new version over the old, and everything was fine. But make copies of your NMM mod folders just in case.
gentlesnake
Okay thanks a lot! Even if it doesn't go as planned at least I know what the issue is and can go from there
JimmyRJump
All NMM versions prior to v0.65.0 were using HTTP while new European law forces all server communications to be done in the HTTPS protocol. For that reason, as of 8 May 2018, these older versions of NMM can no longer communicate with the Nexus servers and NMM was updated and made available from the Nexus despite NMM no longer being supported because of the development and alpha release of Vortex. However, the NMM developers continue to churn out updates on GitHUB. So, get the latest NMM from there, especially since NMM v0.65.2 that can be downloaded from the Nexus has a coding error that prevents you from manually sorting plugins when having Creation Club content and an esl is loaded above an esm. Latest NMM version on GitHUB is v0.65.5.
