WastelandAssassin
what do you mean , a crossbow like this?I mean , you could theoretically make such a crossbowit looks like the trigger mechanism is pretty basic and realistic , and the entire shape does resemble crossbows as I know them (from museums and such)I don't know about actual schematics , but these usually depend more on the user than on the item

WastelandAssassin
usually crossbows are larger than this , especially ones used for military application (as a larger bow means better range)as for damage , it actually depends on the bolt used , and the armor on the target , aside from the obvious strength of the bowlarger crossbows will take longer to reload , although there are reloading mechanisms that help decrease that time , and these again depend on the strength of the userso it's really difficult to compare this specific crossbow to a real counterparthaving said that , it's not like Bethesda are known for making realistic thingsgo by their weight system , and you'll see how far it is from anything realistic . you can also look at swing times of weapons and many other factors to see that Bethesda are embracing the fantasy aspects of their worlds in many parts of their game design
