xNickx
I downloaded a few mods from this site, and a day later my computer crashed completely. Personally I know little about computers, so had to take it down to my local computer shop, and they reloaded windows, which cost me £25 ($50 approx). The computer people said it was from a recent downloaded, and I have only downloaded mods from his website recently. I'm not blaming anyone or asking for my money back, just releasing anger, and as a warning for others like me, who aren't particular good with computers (I was probably the one who caused the crash in trying to mod things, not the mod itself). To be honest some mods can conflict with others and even crash the game, but none I saw until now would crash your machine... better you be aware of viruses and malwares. xNickx
I had only downloaded 6 mods, and none of them seemed to be in the same place or anything, but i suppose i don't really know. For all i know, it might be completely unrelated to Oblivion mods, but im going to stop downloading them anyway. Thanks for the input though. I'm not really sure what to look out for, or which files i shouldn't be changing, so i suppose i will look forward to ,any more computer bills :wallbash: If it came across as if i was blaming somebody i'm, sorry btw, and :thanks: for the input :)
bben46
Ignorance can be expensive. However, It can also be cured (unlike stupidity) Read as much as you can about malware, viruses and if you can, take a course in basic computer maintenance. It's not really brain surgery and most people can learn it. Also, an observation: The more you know about computers, the more you will spend on them, so maybe ignorance is bliss. arnoldvsthegooch
I've downloaded probably 400 mods from this site and not one of them has been corrupted in any way. Not to say that it is not possible, but very unlikely. I think your machine just had a freak accident. I've wiped out a laptop before from static electricity.Don't stop downloading from this site, just run a virus check after the file is downloaded.
