CTD, Model Load Error

Recommended Posts

I'm getting three errors, and crashing to desktop afterwards.

Model Load Error: Meshes\bbr\de_m.nif cannot load file in Meshes\bbr\de_m.nif.

Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF

Model Load Error: Meshes\bbr\de_m1.nif cannot load file in Meshes\bbr\de_m1st.nif.

Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF.

Unable to find referenced object "mel_tpp_name" in script cdc_companion_call_script.

Then it crashes to desktop.

I'm not very good at doing mods, so this was a Data Files folder from a friend. I have used mlox for the load order, which provided it as:

Another topic I found suggest the first two are related to Robert's Bodies missing, but it's in there?

"mel_tpp_name" is from Melian's Teleport Plugin, at a guess "cdc_companion_call_script" is a script for companions using CD Cooley's scripts (IIRC he was one of the original guys behind MWSE). That's all very interesting but I'm afraid I dunno why that error is popping up.

Meshes\bbr\de_m1.nif

If these really are to do with Robert's Bodies do you have a "bbr" folder in Morrowind\Data Files\Meshes and does it have those two .nif files in? If not it's an install mess-up. If they are maybe they're corrupted, try a re-download.

I... kind of got it working? Like I said, new to modding so dunno wtf I'm doing.

Friend suggested to put MGE XE in. Did so, figured out what wasn't allowing that to run with the Morrowind Steam version. Got it running.

Put in friends Data Files folder. Started up, and... it launches with errors.

Meshes\bbr\de_m.nif cannot load file in Meshes\bbr\de_m.nif. Same for \bbr\de_m.1st.nif, \bbr\im_m.nif, and \bbr\im_f.nif

Could load up and start a new game, which presented this interesting graphical show:

Decided what the heck, I can at least get into Seyda Neen from here, not that hard. Go to exit the boat and the game freezes up on loading Seyda Neen.

Download Robert's bodies yourself and install it, see if that helps.

Maybe it's distributed as a .bsa file though, in which case you'd need to edit morrowind.ini to use the .bsa. Check the end of your friend's morrowind.ini, the [Archives] section.

  • 2 weeks later...

Load your game and open the console and click on the yellow marker and type "ori" without quotes. That's how to find out what mod that isn't working.

Are you using Wrye Mash? If you don't use then start to use it from now on as Wrye Mash is essential for managing a stable modded game.
