AugustaCalidia
I'm asking here for technical help in creating Nexus forum topics and replying to topic comments. I am not asking for instruction in forum etiquette. When it comes to forum activities, I am a complete novice (maybe "dunce" is the better word). Although I've managed to post some things over the years, I've done so with little understanding of the process. Hence my question: where can I find technical help for Nexus forum commenting? WastelandAssassin
what do you mean? are you asking for instructions on how to create topics? because you've created this one , so you obviously know how to do thisso assume I'm an idiot and just completely missed your question , and try to explain what you are looking for
Lisnpuppy
Can you give me an example of a particular question you have? I admit I am slightly confused here but I am in dire need of some caffeine. There isn't any "technical manual" to start a thread, post in a thread or respond but if you wish to know a specific technical question like maybe, how do I quote another member's post or something along those lines I can perhaps help or turn you toward the right individual to help you. AugustaCalidia
Thank you all for your speedy responses. As was rightly pointed out, I have a core knowledge of how to use the forums. However, in particular there is one thing that I'm rather hazy about and two things that I'm totally ignorant of. Hazy. What's the proper way to insert a quotation from another post? I've done this maybe a couple of times, but I've done so only after botching it a few times before I got it right. And then I never can remember what the correct way is. Ignorant. How do I insert a "Spoiler" when trying to reply to a comment? And, secondly, how do I show that my reply with Spoiler is a reply to one particular post without the reader having to waste time finding the post? These may be dumb questions, but I honestly don't know the answers to them.
WastelandAssassin
at the bottom of a post , you can find the "Quote" buttonusing it will put a quote of that post into the reply windowthis should cover the reply to a specific post as for the other two , these are done from the reply windowspoilers can be added via Special BBCode (the third icon from the left , on the upper line) . click it , and select Spoiler from the listand for quote , if you just want to quote something from somewhere (not just quoting an older post on that thread) you can use the quote button , which is the yellow bubble icon in the lower line , next to the twitter icon I hope this answers your questions , though feel free to ask anything else
AugustaCalidia
WastelandAssassin, thank you so very much. You have indeed answered my questions. However, I may be back with other questions as I attempt to become more technically proficient in the matter of forums.
WastelandAssassin
feel free , we are usually here to help (even if it will take us some time to reply . we are all still humans , after all...... )but I'm glad that answered your questions . to be honest , I didn't know how to add spoilers myself , even though I suggest that others use it quite often , so it gave me a good excuse to look for it myselfso I also learned something from this , so thank you for asking

As you can see, I got the spoiler feature to work, but I still don't know how to add "In response to post #whatever, etc." Can you help me with that?
