yenom66
Well, I recently downloaded the Deadly Reflex mod by Skycaptain. The description said that it required the Oblivion Script Extender v12 or higher so I went to go download that too. I put it in the correct folder, I believe, but when I tried to install it, it came up with this message: You are using the 1.1.0.425 beta patch of Oblivion, please upgrade to 1.2.0.416. I was sure that I had upgraded to that exact patch already, but it still wasn’t working so I decided to download the patch again. Even with that done the installer for OBSE still wasn’t working. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.
bben46
The patch you show 1.1.0.425 beta, is an older beta patch. Is it possible it was a Shivering Isles beta? If so, you may need to reinstall - per Bethesda. Then install the latest patch only. There are also some patches for other languages and you must have the one for your language version of Oblivion. If you have installed a different language version, again, you will need to reinstall.
nosisab
Assure having NET framework v2+, lacking it is common cause of failing OBSE. bben46, great news you in the moderators team :D Edit: I slept here, OBMM is the one that need net framework, sorryAnother thing you must be aware is the CS, it too need to be newer. I have reinstalled Oblivion but when I go to download the patch it says that old file was found but it didn't update because the contents of both files do not match. Could that be because I've downloaded mods to that file but not the other one?

yenom66
I was able to get it to work and I am now happily decapitating people with the Deadly Reflex mod by Skycaptain.
OrphanSmasher
I know this topic is old as dirt, and i apologize for reviving it, however im having the same problem that Yenom was, and i still cant figure it out, im also having problems finding a reliable patch since bethesda seems to have taken the oblivion downloads page down. I have the Game of the year edition of oblivion that comes with shivering isles and kinghts of the nine, and whenever i try to do an update, even though i downloaded patch 1.2.0416 it still puts my .exe to 1.1.0.425. please help
MShoap13
The GOTY edition comes patched to the latest version. Just reinstall and don't patch it.
bben46
Installing an Oblivion patch before installing SI will cause problems. The full patch is included on the SI disk and you don't need any other patches. Uninstall everythingInstall ONLY the Oblivion disk DO NOT PATCH! Do not install any mods yet.Start the game and make a saveInstall the SI Disk Start the game and make a saveYou should be fully patched Now you can install OBSE BTW, there is no extra charge for starting a new topic and more people will look at it than a 3 year old topic.
