liadis
At least, not while modded. There has been tons of issues after I attempted to upgrade from NMM to Vortex, and it's... Pretty and not much else. I had the pleasure of having to copy my NMM mods to Vortex - which had a default path on my C: drive that had limited space so that failed - and then switching the path to D: drive, which cause Vortex to attempt to import everything from C: drive back to D: drive - those that survived. I had to uninstall and reinstall, and I have no idea what I had from almost two years ago, so... I couldn't install everything. (And for some reason even Unofficial Patch and Race Compatibility wasn't working...) I had installed mods that aren't actually installed - I've actually had FNIS deleted itself while Vortex doesn't register that there's any problem with this. And it's not just FNIS, but a few other folders. Uninstalling isn't uninstalling either, I had to delete everything outside of Vortex and do a fresh install. There are no indicators to the progress of mods being installed, unlike NMM. You can't turn off the upgrade to premium thing on dashboard. This is a serious kick in the face to someone that's extremely frustrated. I understand that there might be need to upgrade the framework, but so far, it really seems like Vortex isn't even doing basic things right. I don't know, maybe I've been just doing it wrong? I've been tinkering and using Vortex for the past 2 - 3 days, roughly 10 hours a day, and I am seriously frustrated. Why can't you just continue support for NMM, and keep Vortex in development for much, much longer? It just isn't something that works on a fundamental level - those problems that I ran into shouldn't be a thing for a program that manage filesystem. Vortex is potentially downright unsafe. 3aq
Give MO2 a try. If that doesn't work, then well cheers to you.
Tannin42
a) You can configure Vortex to store it's mods on a different drive. And it should be obvious that without configuration vortex will store its file to c: because never in the history of windows and dos combined has any application stored things on another drive by default.b) You don't explain why you had to uninstall/reinstall. Vortex imports mods one by one so except for the one that was being imported when your disk was full, all others have either been imported successfully or not at all. After you have vortex move its mods to a different drive (which it does automatically when you change the mod directory) you could just have removed the one mod that failed and then restarted the import to get the rest.c) "I had installed mods that aren't actually installed". This statement makes no sense. Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say hered) "I've actually had FNIS deleted itself while Vortex doesn't register that there's any problem with this.". Same - I have no clue what you're trying to say.e) "Uninstalling isn't uninstalling either" How so? No, you didn't have to delete everything outside or do a fresh install. You did that, instead of trying to understand how Vortex works, don't blame that on Vortex.f) "There are no indicators to the progress of mods being installed" There are, in the current versiong) "You can't turn off the upgrade to premium thing on dashboard" You can: Get premiumh) "Why can't you just continue support for NMM" You do understand that developers don't grow on trees and that, contrary to popular belief, they need to eat too? Why don't you just learn programming and then support NMM?i) "I've been tinkering and using Vortex for the past 2 - 3 days, roughly 10 hours a day" So you spent 20-30 hours messing things up and then went on a mostly incoherent rant instead of just asking for help. No offense but I don't feel responsible for that.j) "those problems that I ran into shouldn't be a thing for a program that manage filesystem" - So you belief applications should be able to store more data on disk than the disk has space available? You go invent magic then we can talk about it...
a2550948
well im not encountering any problem so far except that one time LOOT messed up and i thought its vortex's faultheres a tipwhen something is not working, deploy mods usually does the trick.
