Someone please explain this to me?

Recommended Posts

I haven't had a single problem with my alienware yet, now I need to quit saying I have one because all people say to me is that it's an overpriced junkpile. Most people who tell me that have never even touched one before.

So, if a gaming PC is amazing and priced above 1,000 dollars, it's overpriced? Most gaming computers are 1,000+ dollars.

i didnt say youd have problems with your alienware nor that it was a junk pile. even more so i was more talking about actual desktop PCs., you buy the case and the name as well as the parts.

let me list a few examples.

an extremely light cheap alienware model, customized with the bare minimum is $1594.00...to build that same rig yourself, it would cost ~$1035.

now going with a high end expensive gaming rig (selecting Alienware Recommended when applicable otherwise choosing the highest option) this is just for the PC, no extras if avoidable. alienware price: $3770. price if built personally: ~$2645

lastly, more personal. i plan on building a PC in the next few months. if i were to build an alienware PC going with as close as possible hardware wise as i plan on getting for my PC, it would cost me ~$2000. now, when i plan on building this myself, its under $1600. AND ill be getting an SSD with my build, and what i believe to be, just as good if not better components in most areas.

Alienware PCs aren't junk, nobody here even said that. They are overpriced. They're great PCs, but there's no denying that the prices are some of the highest in the industry and higher than the price would be to build an equivalent machine.

As for the actual problem, I would guess that a single cheaper part of the Alienware rig is holding back all the stronger parts. If the lower-end part can be replaced, your Alienware would probably run games much better than the laptop.
