Sultan0fswing
So I installed oblivion, shivering isles, all of the official plugins, all unofficial patches for this content, oblivion XP, FCOM and tamriel travellers and it works just fine apparently. I have not created a bashed patch. Am i missing out on content due to that, or is it supposed to be just like this? I have seen some content from mods for sure - 2 lesser balrogs in a quest dungeon and the travelling merchants and NPC adventuring parties, not sure about anything else. jamochawoke
Bashed patches are for adding mods to an already saved game. If you start a new game with mods you don't need a bashed patch.
evenstargw
Bashed patches are for adding mods to an already saved game. If you start a new game with mods you don't need a bashed patch. That's not true. The bashed patch will resolve conflicts between mods that alter the same object in different ways. For instance, if one gives it new spells and another changes the basic stats, only the last loaded of those mods will actually work. The bashed patch can collect the information from both mods and merge it so they both take effect. Apart from that there are a lot of game tweaks you can make in your bashed patch. AnimalRiot
Your particular setup doesn't seem to require a bashed patch yet though I may also be wrong since I'm unfamiliar with the setup of Oblivion XP and FCOM.
AlfredTetzlaff
Hi,for FCOM a bashed Patch is mandatory. Maybe you should have a look at the latest FCOM instructions found here at Bethesda.Follow those install instructions to the letter, otherwise you won't be happy with FCOM in the long run.Good luck
