roadbum
I had Fallout 3 up and running mods installed, everything fine. Then I loaded the expansion pack (Broken Steel, Zeta, Pt. Lookout etc.) along with a few other mods. Now I keep getting the message: "The ordina 5360 could not be located in the dynamic link library xlive.dll" At first I thought it was a mod doing this so I deactivated every mod (and even the expansion pack mods) but I keep getting this message. Without pulling the whole game and starting over is there anything I can do?
BlackRampage
So I'm guessing you've got the retail copy of Fallout 3, not the Steam copy? If so, you'll first need to download and install "Games for Windows Live", or whatever they called it: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5549 Next step: start the game once so it generates a .ini file. Otherwise you won't be able to perform the next steps. Uninstall GFWL again, you won't ever need it anymore. For good measure, get this mod to disable the in-game GFWL crap: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1086/?
roadbum
I did all that, even had Archive invalidation installed, and was running several mods things were fine. Then Since a lot of mods require the expansion pack I installed the 2nd disk (GOTY edition) Installed a few more mods that were basically .esp's that's when the game stopped running and I kept getting that message by the way, I'm running FMM as well
M48A5
Make sure you do not have the game installed in "Program Files". If it is, completely uninstall it and re-install it in a location other than "Program Files". The fact that you installed the xlive.dll does not change the solution to the error message. I'm guessing that when you installed the DLCs, it must have overwritten something and xlive.dll is not being detected. Reinstall it. Or, open FOMM, left click on "Tools". In the drop down menu, left click "Installation Tweaker". Left click on the box to the left of "Use fake xlive dll" and close FOMM. Uninstall the standalone "Archive Invalidation" file. There is one built into any good mod manager. You cannot use both the mod manager version and the standalone version.
