greyday01 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I never saw the point of mining until I started carrying a pickaxe in skyrim. Now a lot of my money comes from mining. With the spell to transform iron ingots to silver and the gems you find while mining you can make a lot by smithing only jewelry. It pays for my travels anyway and you never know when you may come across more lucrative ore patches. Along with a woods axe and tent (Frostfall and Campfire make those essential) and a reasonable amount of food I'm usually packing quite a bit even without loot. Has anyone modded a pack burro that not for riding but just follows along behind you? Anyway do others carry a pickaxe on their travels?
WastelandAssassin Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I don't know of any pack animals , but I'm pretty sure there are horse mods that adds usable satchels , so that you can have your horse share the load as for carrying a pick axe , my characters always carry one (I have yet to play a character that didn't craft . even more magic focused characters still use crafting , as it's just great moneyI don't use mods like Frostfall (I really hate the survival aspects in these games , I find them usually unrealistic , especially since it feels like other humanoids don't have the same rules applying) , thus I never carry a wood axe (I usually keep one in Breezehome , so that I could chop wood if I need any for crafting) if you get a mod like mainland Stahlrim , you'll get even more reasons to go get (or make) the ancient pick axe , and always carry that on you
DarkRudra Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 It's not exactly the same as a pack animal, but Handcart can be used to turn a horse or follower into one after a fashion. I think Convenient Horses could be set up to make a horse behave as one as well, though I'm not sure on that. Combat might be kinda weird with that. Anyway, yeah, I usually carry a pickaxe, though in my latest characters I don't use it much.
