Hey there, im currently working on a quest mod and have voice acting working in game, but i cant seem to work out how to lip sync, i know how to lip sync the file when i have recorded it in the geck but not when i have created my own in audacity

is it all possible or will i just have to record it through the geck

incase you are wondering my reason for using audacity is to improve the quality of the sound as my mic isnt great at blocking out background noise

Make sure the file is mono and not stereo. Also, make sure your file is in wav format. The lip generator only works with wav files. If you have the file in another format like ogg, load that back into Audacity and save it as a wav.

The first step is to put your audio file in the right place so that the GECK will play it. You can record a blank second or two just to get the folders set up correctly and just delete those wav and lip files generated by the GECK. Then put your audio file in the same folder and copy/paste the file name from the GECK conversation into your wav's file name.

Important: The GECK doesn't update this, so you'll have to close out the dialog editing window and open it back up again. Now if you look down at the bottom of the window, it should say Y for wav but should still say N for lip. Click on the wav to select it. You should be able to press play and hear it through the GECK. If all is well, while the file is highlighted in the conversation edit window, just click on generate lip file, and the GECK will create the lip file for you.

I'm assuming you have the lip generator installed, since you can generate lip files when you record them from the GECK. If not, see Dubious's link.

Do you have the lip generator installed? See the link that Dubious posted if you didn't install it. Make sure you put the files in the right directory.

If the lip generator is missing, it will do exactly as you posted. It won't generate a lip file.

If you did install the lip generator and it still isn't working, then most likely either the files are in the wrong place or the wav file is in the wrong format.
