Khumak
The previous version of Vortex worked great for me with about 250-300 mods installed. Now that I'm using 15.2 some of my mods seem to be permanently stuck in the wrong load order and can't be moved no matter what I do. For instance it's insisting on putting ApachiiHairMales.esm at the bottom of my load order even after mods that actually require it. Furthermore it doesn't even recognize that those other mods require it and does not throw the usual warning message about that. To make matters worse, some of my mods seem to be permanently disabled no matter what I do. For example ApachiiHairFemales.esm is disabled. If I click on it to enable it, nothing happens. If I uninstall the mod, it goes away but if I reinstall it, it still refuses to enable. Changing mods to different groups is no longer having any effect on load order. Changing rules to tell mod a mod to load after some other mod also does nothing and sometimes I will get an error complaining about a nonexistent conflicting rule. Sometimes I will even get errors complaining about cyclic conflicts with mods I don't even have installed. I'm not using any other mod manager and I have deleted all but 1 of my profiles. I tried doing purge mods and then went in and manually deleted everything that was left in the data folder and then redeployed and I still have the same problem. I also tried cloning my profile to a new one after purging mods but when I redeploy I still have the same issue. I submitted a feedback report from within Vortex on this as well and included all of the available options for attaching logs/settings/app state/etc.
Grestorn
Can you show us screenshots of the plugin page with the affected mods listed? The behaviour you're describing is hightly unusual and I cannot reproduce it. I wonder if there's something wrong with you group setup?
Khumak
It's got to be some setting in Vortex that's stuck or something. I was curious so I tried installing MO2 just now and set it's MOD directory to just be the same as my Vortex Mod directory. So I didn't have to install anything, I was literally using the same files that were already installed through Vortex for MO. I was able to enable all of my mods and plugins and Loot was able to sort them correctly. I was also able to start the game and my mods were all working (after resolving the file conflicts in the left pane the same as I had done in Vortex.) Grestorn
You sorted outside of Vortex? That's not a good idea. Vortex uses LOOT internally. Again, please go to the "plugins" tab in Vortex and make a screenshot that shows that ApachiiHairFemales.esm and it's load order (together with other mods around that, best would be a shot of the whole Vortex window)
Tannin42
According to the application state you have sent in you have an index lock set up for ApachiiHairMales.esm and ApachiiHairFemales.esm. The whole point of that feature is to lock them to a certain load order position. Why that would keep it from being enabled I can't say, there is no indication in your log that there was a problem enabling a plugin. I noticed that as well, but toggling the index lock on and off didn't seem to have any effect on the plugins that I'm having issues with. Even uninstalling the mod and reinstalling it doesn't affect it. The same plugins are also stuck in that state if I clone my profile and try it on the new one. Grestorn
Did you press "Sort plugins" after you've changed the setting?
Khumak
Did you press "Sort plugins" after you've changed the setting? Yes. I also tried enabling and disabling auto sort, changing what group the mod is in, toggling the lock status on and off, adding a rule to tell it to load after another mod (or telling some other mod to load after it in the case of the one at the bottom), uninstalling and reinstalling the mod, nothing seems to affect the status of those mods. If I uninstall the mod the plugin does go away, but when I reinstall it's still stuck in a locked load order and/or permanently disabled depending on the mod. The only thing I can think of that I did differently than usual before this started was I decided to let Wrye Bash merge some of my plugins into it. It disabled those plugins when it did that and then depending on whether the mod had only an esp or additional files like textures/meshes/etc I either uninstalled the mod or just deleted the esp (outside of Vortex). None of those mods seemed to have any issues when I did that though. I just thought I'd mention it since Wrye Bash is a mod manager as well as just a way to create a bashed patch. Prior to yesterday I had only been using the rebuild patch function in Wrye Bash, not the merge plugins option. The other tools that I've been using on a regular basis without issue are SSEEDIT, Mator Smash, Bodyslide, FNIS, TexGen, and DynDOLOD.
