Storm Raven
Okay, I can't do much about ACER's offical website but if you have information on the driver name, version or anything like that you might try googling it, in case, you can download it from somewhere else. You're not going to like this, but you will probably need to make sure you're running all of the latest hardware drivers available for your laptop. Especially since you are running Vista. Many of the old drivers, especially printer drivers have problems under Vista. It's all part of a vast conspiracy to get you to purchase the new hardware. In this case newer printers that have Vista, compatible drivers. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. I just played this game myself with Vista Ultima 64. So trust me, they are out to get you. LOL So when you're looking for these drivers. Sometimes there will be two versions. One of them will be a Vista version. Obviously, that is the one you will need. When you are googling for drivers. You will probably see an ad for a place that will check your hardware and tell you what drivers need to be updated. Of course they will want you to sign up and pay them a fee. I have yet to find that necessary. In most cases, they will give you a list of the drivers that need to be updated for free. If not, you definitely do not want to do business with them. Use the list to go looking for drivers, at least that's what I do. If you are still having problems later on. I will hunt down some links for the driver databases that I have. But by then, I am sure you will know exactly what you're looking for and that will help me find the drivers you need. Remember to use the Vista driver, wherever possible. Good Luck, Storm Raven

Storm Raven
You might want to check and make sure that the Oblivion you installed the first time has been completely removed so that Vista does not get confused between the two installations. legacy3265
I think I mite have the answer to your problem. Try uninstalling Oblivion. Then go to your Oblivion Folder in "My Documents". Delete that entire Folder. The reason for this is that your Oblivion.ini file their has been changed. But delete the entire folder anyways. Then Reload the game, and give it a shot. I'm talking from experience here. I also had the same problem, but a lot of trying, I got it right. Also another destination of the problem is your Graphics options. So from the Oblivion Start up option, Go to "My Options", and "Set to Defaults". Other than that, I have no clue. Storm Raven
Tekmon, Legacy3265 makes a good point. Give that a whirl as well. I have bookmarked this topic, so I can check back on it later. Sure would be nice if the simple solution. Turns out to be the one that works. Storm Raven 8)
billypnats
um i wouldn't go as far as to delete the entire folder. just deleted oblivion.ini in there. Also, do you have HDR turned on? load the game on bare minimum and work your way up.
Shadowcran
I don't know if it helps, but I had a mod I downloaded do the same thing. I had to track it down but it turned out to be LD Damage Text. One that shows how much damage your weapon does on an opponent.
