Grifior walke back to vidar to get the skooma pipe, when she saw it was stil untouched and Vigar still staring bordly at the sea she said:"Well, not much of a skooma lover I see. If you think it's just a drug, then I advice you not to use any herb or potion again, well not from me then, because I use Skooma in every potion."

Laraine saw Thomas leave. She followed him, entering his room.

"I seem to have misled you. I thought I was making myself clear. Obviously not."

She approached him and sighed.

"I will be blunt. It will be dawn soon. I need blood to survive. Since I have aided you, I thought you might be willing to.....sacrifice one of your less important or practical refugees...."

Thomas gave Laraine a key. Go down to the very bottom of the ship. There are 13 slaves down there. They are dying but there blood is still good. Do not tell anyone. And use them wisely. Hehe. I remembered you when I was planning this out. Now go. I need to plan a sailing route.

"Well, It was no my intention to ....cure you, although I could do that. I just wanted to know what the effects are when a vampire takes blood from a mortal"She ansered back to Laraine,"and you can't expect Thomas to just give you the permision to take blood from one of the mortals."

"If for nothing else addiction to skooma weakens oneself. That cannot be allowed." Vidar said. Staring into the waves and remembering his loved ones relaxed Vidar. He soon made up his mind to head for home at soon as he could.

Laraine took the key smiling, her fangs reflecting in the candle-light. "Thank you. You have been most thoughtful." She tossed her cloak over her shoulder and left the room.

In the keep

Laraine approached the slaves. They moved in their manacles, but they could not go far for the chains held strongly. She neared one of them smiling maliciously. The condemned men could feel something was amiss. She opened her mouth, and in one fluid movement was upon him, left hand keeping his head still as she tore the soft, thin flesh of his neck.

The man's muffled cry spread over the keep. Her mouth filled with his blood.

The prisoner kicked and struggled, the other dozen were frozen in terror. Laraine clutched onto him stongly, he could not remove her.

His life was ebbing away.

His legs ceased to kick. The emaciated corpse, paled and shriveled, hung lifelessly from the manacles.

Laraine turned to grin malignly at the other prisoners. Crimson blood dripped from her chin.
