I am courious which mod projekts there is wich is creating parts of Tamriel.

The ones I am aware of is:

Silgrad Tower http://oblivion.silgrad.com/

Tamriel Rebuilt http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/

The Lands of Solstheim-Vvardenfell-Mournhold http://postalmodding.proboards105.com/inde...y&thread=44

Sheogorad - Forsaken Isles http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=834435

Recently saw that Silgrad Tower is a part of a bigger mod projekt named Beyond Cyrodiil. Official forum: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=59

General (possible outdated) information: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes4Mod:Beyond_Cyrodiil

It is several mods wich is creating different parts of tamriel. All share webhosting, information, resources, etc and are collaborating. Althougt it seems Silgrad Tower is the only part of Beyond Cyrodiil even remotly close to a fully playable version (correct me if I am wrong).

I do not know if all parts of Beyond Cyrodiil currently is in developement. I has browsed their forums a bit and it seems like some of the mods is or has been hybernating. If anyone know more of this it would be interesting to learn about it.

I also wonder if there is more lore friendly mod projects of this kind in developement that not is listed here.

Actually there are at least others three projects being developed. Two of then I know will welcome talented modders. Colored Rooms (Vagrant0) and Anvil Redux (DarkWarrior). The first is settled in a new world but is lore compliant. The second deals directly with the city.

Edit: The nicknames placed after the project name can be reached in this forum.

Well, the aim is to be lore complient, however that isn't actually that simple since there isn't mucn lore to deal with on the subject. But the attempt is there...

And as far as lore goes, even Bethsoft doesn't always follow though on their own lore.

Indeed, but since the project respects the basic aspects of the TES world... maybe you are just writing the Meridia's lore

Well my point is that lore is more open to interpretation than anything. We've only been exposed to a small amount of what's there through the games, and several of the earlier games conflict with the lore in Oblivion and SI. Technically, Morrowind conflicts with the lore which was initially set within Arena. So judging based solely on lore really isn't the best way to go about it. Rather one should judge based on how little it conflicts with the rest of OBlivion, or on the merits of the project as an addition to the game.

Thanks for replies.

I am going to explain a bit closer what I meant with "(game lore based) land creating mod projects"

What I had in mind is not mods that add locations to Cyrodiil itself but create other provinces.

With "game lore based" I mean mods that add new land that already is present in the game lore.

For example: Silgrad Tower is is going to add a big piece of the Morrowind mainland and Tamriel Rebuilt is going to add Hammerfell.

So why do I think there may be more mod projects creating provinces of Tamriel than those listed in the first post? Well, until recently I thougth Silgrad Tower and Tamriel Rebuilt was the only mod projects aiming to do this. Then I happend to read about SOVVM, Sheogorad-Forsaken Isles and Beyond Cyrodiil. Therefore I find it likely it may be more of them.

I am not a modder myself. But I find these kind of mod projects fascinating and wait with anticipation for one or several of the mentioned to release a fully playable version. (This wait may not be forever since Silgrad Tower as a example already has released two playable beta versions)

I also think it is interesting to follow the dvelopement of this kind of mods.
