folgore62
I was trying to switch over to MO2 with no success when I found out about Vortex. Generally speaking, I find Vortex easy to use. I know LOOT is already integrated into Vortex, but what about FNIS? I installed it but see no desktop shortcut for it nor do I see a FNIS button anywhere in Vortex. What should I do to run FNIS? Also, is there any general guidance about Load Order or should I just trust Vortex to get it right?
Grestorn
Switch to the Dashboard in Vortex. There you'll see a tools section (where the game icon is, on the right you'll see "Add Tool+". Within this there should be an FNIS button. You have to tell it where the FNIS executable is located (use the three dots menu). If there's no FNIS button, you can add it yourself with the "Add Tool+" button. The load order is usually fine. Only in special cases, like when you create patches yourself or if you're adding special, not-well-known patches, you might have to adjust the load order (in general: All patches have to be loaded after each mod they're patching). But check first if the standard load order is not already fine.
rmm200
Grestorn can correct me, but you need a copy of FNIS installed on each profile, using a different name. FNIS generated changes will be written back to this Profile specific copy of FNIS. Not the way I would have done it - but no one asked me.
Grestorn
I think you're right, rmm200. Another way would be to rerun FNIS after each profile switch. Which sounds easier and less problematic to me.

Now I've seen there is a "sort" function available when you look at the plugins section. Is this LOOT in disguise or a separate program entirely? In other words, do I have to run LOOT as well as this sort function?
