"Cannot reach the Nexus login server" Error

Every time i try to download a mod using NMM, i receive the error message "Cannot reach the Nexus login server. Either your firewall is blocking NMM or the login server is down". It's been doing this for weeks and i tried to look into my firewall settings but i dont see "Nexus Mod Manager" listed anywhere so i cant modify whether or not it gets through the firewall.

Anyone else having this issue or know of a solution?

Maybe you're still using a version of NMM prior to v0.65.0 which as of 8 May can no longer communicate with the Nexus servers because of the forced upgrade from HTTP to the HTTPS protocol. Check GitHUB for the latest NMM version(s). Currently at v0.65.8.

All NMM 0.64.XX versions still use HTTP and are unable to connect to the Nexus servers. Versions 0.65.0 to 0.65.2 have an XML code error that prevents you from swapping around plug-ins in NMM when an esl is loaded above an esm. The latter has been solved as of v0.65.3.

In case you have doubts about GitHUB: that's where the NMM developers are now since NMM is no longer supported by the Nexus in favour of Vortex.

Ah, that's gotta be it, then. I haven't used NMM for a few months so i havent updated it for a while. And no worries, i know and trust GitHub.

Thanks for the info!
