Blacksnake89
wow, this is the first time I think I've ever seen someone de-rail their own topic...cool!You've obviously never seen my topics on the WoW forums then. I make threads just to derail them, troll, flame, troll, derail, and uhm...troll. As for the topic at hand (serious hat time) : I roleplay in World Of Warcraft often. My character is Aeil a blood elf paladin tormented by a failure in his past. Aeil was once a leader of a small group of paladins. They were ambushed and cut down leaving Aeil as the only surviver. He feels a strong connection with his clansmen and will defend them with his dying breath. I'm part of an RP heavy guild called <Tsukikage Fang> It means Moon Shadow fang, it is a mixture of my guild name and someone else’s. Our guild story is we are a group of mercinaries based out of Shadow Moon valley. Our old base was Shadowfang keep until Aurugal siezed control of it from us. We mainly RP the guild as a tight knit group of mercs that value our comrades as family. I am one of the founding members and second in command. Me, Masane, Grock, Thock, Myanmara, and Flowerhoof are the founding members that still remain along with Vykar who is the guild leader. Our actual guild activities include group Demon hunting, World PvP with a "rival" guild, running instances, PvE raiding, and making pilgrimages to areas we've declared as sacred to our guild. We have our own guild religion as well. I convinced the founding members to make the name of one of our gods Nocturnal :) (lawsuit not included). Over the last year our guild has made many decisions on were to go with our guild story as we've grown. One of our more recent story changes is the addition of divisions within the clan. My division are the Judges. The Judges are made up of paladins and the discipline/holy priests of the guild. I hold the rank of Judge Superior. There are 3 Judge Magisters below me and the rest are labeled different kinds of Judge based on their skills. The Judges are bound by a code of honor and have sworn to protect their clansmen and those too weak to defend themselves. They follow the teachings of The Moon. Next are The Inquisitors, lead by Grand Inquisitor Shisou (Shadows of Death) they are our fearsome stealth force consisting of Rogues mainly assassination or subtlety, Feral Druids, and Marksman Hunters. The inquisitors are ruthless killers and superb scouts, they excell at information gathering and assassination. They follow teachings of the Shadow. Next are the Ravagers, they are our heavy combat specialists. Consisting of Warriors, Survivalist Hunters, Beast Master Hunters, Combat Rogues, Enhancement Shamans, and Retribution Paladins who don't feel they fit in with the honor bound code of the Judges. These fearsome commandoes are lead by the mighty brothers Grock and Thock. The Ravagers are powerful warriors concerned with gaining glory through combat. They are fearless, merciless, and ruthless preferring brute force to take down their opponents. They follow the teachings of the Twilight. Next are the Twilight's Hand Lead by the members of the Black Hand Vykar, Masane, and Nornalman. Twilight's Hand reach out with a destructive force. Consisting of Warlocks, Subtlety rogues, Shadow Priests, and Mages of any kind (mostly frost some fire 1 arcane). Twilight's Hand are vicious, twisted and truly worthy of the title insane, members of Twilight's Hand are sadistic to their enemies and delight in bringing pain. They follow the teachings of Shadow. Lastly there are the Children of Llolith lead by Flowerhoof. The children of Llolith are made up of any healing class that wish to be known as healers. They are the most "good" of the clan. They follow the teachings of the moon. Another of our other recent changes is relationships within the guild. Friendly, brotherly (non family), loving, romantic, protector/protected, friendly rival, rival etc. This was something that for the most part was already implemented but it is now assigned based on previous interaction, guild standing, clan, division, and character temperaments. IE we wouldn't have a member of the Children of Lloth being the protector of a member of the Judges or Ravagers. Currently Aeil is protector of Shalari a member of the Inquisitors and a fairly new recruit. Under the decision of Masane herself Aeil has a protector/romantic relationship with Masane. Aeil is also a close comrade of Shisou and as such the Judges have a close kinship with the Inquisitors, a friendly rivalry with the Ravagers and a disliking for the methods employed by Twilight's Hand (rivalry). Vykar has a brotherly relationship with Thock and the two divisions work together closely. Flowerhoof has a fondness for Aeil so the Children of Llolith work closely with the Judges to accomplish their common goals. She also has a close friendly relationship with Grommock one of the mid ranking officers of the Ravagers and the two divisions work together to complete their goals. The Children of Llolith however dislike the teaching of the Shadow and try not to work with Inquisitors or Twilight's Hand if they don't have to. There are several other relationships between the other members but I decided to only cover the main members. Our guild is very concerned about our reputation so we have regulations on our role playing. Mainly we try to make sure members don’t confuse reality with fiction. We make sure that people realize relationships within the guild are strictly in character and we try to discourage people from developing out of character relationships but it is allowed. We do not however allow cyber of any kind it’s just not good for our reputation and is irritating to those that don’t want to hear it. Attempts to cyber are met with immediate guild suspension and depending on how long you’ve been with us or previous interactions the leaders may discuss exile (ban). 2 attempts to cyber through the guild channels are met with an immediate and non negotiable ban. Our guild has ranks but we also have an inner hierarchy. Vykar may be the guild master but he is not our guilds king. We have another division of the guild the royal family. the Judges act as the royal families personal guards. The members of the royal family are King Rivon, Queen Myanmara, Princess Hyako, Prince Shafan, Duke Ungolo, and a special ambassador Princess Shalari. Shalari is a blood elf character in the guild but we’ve allowed her and only her to say she’s actually a night elf. Her story is she’s an ambassador from an alliance guild called <The Rose Crusade> lead by Scarletrose. Shalari is the second in command of The Rose Crusade which is the Alliance version of our guild, the two of us are the largest role play guilds on our server. I wont go into TSC’s story. Thanks to the awesome game moderators on our server Shalari was granted her level and her gear on her horde version of her character so it’s like she really is an ambassador from the Alliance. Currently TKF are at Tempest Keep in raid progression. We have synchronized raids once a week on the Tempest Keep dungeons The Eye, Arcatraz, Botanica, and Mechonar. We enjoy doing things as a guild and it’s a lot of fun acting like a family of mercs. You get a lot of great stories and interactions from people.Edit: I think I got all the typoes but there could be one or two lurking here
Chesto
evil...i presume that that is a pvp server. No, No, No. I tried pvp on Conan and was immediately ganked by creeps about 9 levels higher than me. Started a thread on the Conan forums using the main creeps name...and all the mouth breathers, and knuckle draggers came out of hibernation just to gank me there, too. No, pvp?... no thanks.Blacksnake...! I've just realized that i havent been roleplaying at all, compared to what you've been up to. Just being myself, in another char's body. Just a girlfriend online, basically. Hmmm...shall have to give this far more thought, i see. You wouldnt be a functionary of the Lore Police, would you? Blacksnake89
Blacksnake...! I've just realized that i havent been roleplaying at all, compared to what you've been up to. Just being myself, in another char's body. Just a girlfriend online, basically. Hmmm...shall have to give this far more thought, i see. You wouldnt be a functionary of the Lore Police, would you?Nope more like lore Nazi’s. Nah I kid our guild can be lenient on what your stories are for example the troll tribe you play as in WoW is the darkspear tribe. We have 5 members that say they're from the Zul'Gurub tribe and 1 that says she's an ex follower of Atta'Mai from the Zujin tribe. The blood elf paladins are all supposed to be members of the blood knights but anyone who joins the Judges must shed the ways of the blood knights because they aren't honorable. I guess you could say we're lore Nazi’s when it comes to our lore but we're not so concerned about the actual lore of warcraft. We honor the lore of warcraft to a certain extent, for instance we wont let someone join if they say their a super elite ninja from the naruto universe who ripped a whole through the dimensions and traveled to Azeroth. I had to deny someone entrance to the guild yesterday because they had that exact story. We also have an age limit to the guild. If you're under the age of 15 we keep a closer eye on you during your initiation than normal and if you're under 13 we deny you entirely. We have member age's ranging from 14-35 on average and our oldest member Atlam is 72. Atlam is the guild wise man and head of our elder counsel. Chesto
Black... either you have a brain the size of a planet, or you have tiny nuclear explosions going off in there. How on earth do keep track of all this stuff? I can barely remember what class i am, at any given moment.BTW: anyone wondering whether or not a girl toon is really a boy...this stuff of Blacksnakes's is the dead give away. Though, i expect that there may be obsessive real girls, too. Oh... and discussions involving lots of number/letters.
Chesto
Something that im starting to notice in a lot of people's RP, is that, however much they may be up on the whole lore thingy, and however much they may strive for accuracy in adhering to the lore thingy, they tend to forget how to behave in a basically 'human' way. So many times people just steamroller over the basic human reponses in their quest for lore accuracy. I put it down to 'not smelling the flowers' syndrome. Such a delight when someone responds humanely, while at the same time remaining in their chosen 'character'.

Just smellin the flowers, and singin a song. :blush:I find myself most inline with stealth or tanking classes. on WoW I have 5 70's on frostwolf (PvP) and 2 on Kirin'Tor (RP).My first character ever was a Warrior and I leveled from 1-60 protection. Next was my rogue 1-60 assassination. Next was the hunter 1-50 marksman 51-60 beast master. Then I leveled my mage 1-60 frost. Finally was my druid 1-70 feral combat. On Kirin Tor I have Aeil my paladin 1-70 protection then I leveled my shaman 1-70 enhancment then I switched to restoration. All that time playing WoW and I only have 3 tanks and only 1 healer. My 3 most used characters are in order of most to least used Paladin, Warrior, Shaman. My warrior and paladin are both in the best PvE gear released as of now (Sunwell gear). Yes I've sunk a lot of time into this game in the last 4 years.Edit: Oh the people labled 1-60 are ones I leveled before burning crusade expansion and all characters leveled in BC were done in the same spec they were when I re loaded them. delphinus
Chesto, i was deadly bored by online rpgs (or supposed to be) because i had your freaking same experience! People talking about levelling, xp, spec, best weapon ingame, made me definitely understand that i can never play a mmorpg. I once played WoW for a couple of months, i had some fun, but i was soon soo tired of the things above that i got back to my TES games, where my character can sit in front of the fire drinking a mug of wine or take a swim in the nearby lake or sea without getting the annoying comments from people: "wat you are doing there thers are mobs round here you play a month here and you ar still lev5" And THIS is the reason because i STRONGLY HOPE that bethesda will NEVER convert TES into a mmorpg.
