How do YOU roleplay...

Ah, sorry for the tardy response. Brain a bit mushlike because of lost sleep. Anyway...

delphinus: though i have to agree that one gets an awful lot of what you described, things...well, in my game, are improving markedly now that i am out of the tutorial phase. People are starting to losen up, and , indeed, take time to smell the flowers, or go for a swim. Though, in my game , 'go for a swim' has become a euphemism for something else, entirely.

I think a lot of it comes down to what kind of person might be playing at any given time of day. Hordes of school boys charging around looking like buxom maidens, spouting stats, do not make for great roleplay. Though it is quite amusing to frighten the beejeebers out of them by exploding in their faces when they have the temerity to comment on some aspect of ones chosen life style, ingame.

And that is roleplay, jim, ... maybe just not as we know it.

I have taken a quick look at the game you are playing... it looks amazing. There are many things you can do and all are perfect for roleplaying. I'd like to try this one as a last hope for online rpg. But i'm a bit pessimistic that what i see on the trailers can happen really, with the "hordes of schoolboys" (LOL) running around like crazy, armed to the teeth, destroying the atmosphere of the game and the feeling of the roleplay.

You say you can ignore or even frighten them, yes, but for how long? When you are the only roleplayer among thousands poweroons, the things are a bit hard... sooner or later you will have to play with someone, and well, if you play a quest with one of THEM forget aout stopping in the middle of your trip and sit in front of the fire in a cold night! and do not even THINK about smelling a single flower!

Once i was playing with my undead witch in WoW, i had one of THEM as a companion of my team, it was a terrible experience: no one single look at the landscape, no one single pause, he didn't freakin listen to any advice or attempt of strategy. at the end i had headache.

Black... either you have a brain the size of a planet, or you have tiny nuclear explosions going off in there. How on earth do keep track of all this stuff? I can barely remember what class i am, at any given moment.
BTW: anyone wondering whether or not a girl toon is really a boy...this stuff of Blacksnakes's is the dead give away. Though, i expect that there may be obsessive real girls, too. Oh... and discussions involving lots of number/letters.

Nope I actuallty have horrible short term memory I can remember random facts like mad. Oh and I don't know everything about everyone in my guild. We have over 300 people in it I only know a large amount about the high ranks and I know every Judge then again I HAVE to know the Judges since I run them. I also know people who take the time to get to know me wich is a lot since I'm the second in command. I can tell whether a girl toon is really a guy in the guild cuz we use ventillo ;). I enjoy my guild because out of 300 members 167 are females IRL. We are hard core RP so we really don't care if a guy's playing a female toon it just makes it kind of akward when they're on vent. We only have like 8 people that are guys that play female toons though.

Ah undead, a good undead RPer is the funniest thing you'll find on WoW. Shisou and some other undead rogue killed an alliance the other day and they dueled to see who got to eat the corpse. Most I ever lol'd at Shisou's actions. If you find yourself on Kirin Tor wanting a guild to RP with you could apply for mine. You need to be at least level 60 to apply though.

In WoW you get a female toon dancing on a table especially a night elf and people start throwing cash at them like it's a damn strip club. Then again if you've seen the female nelf dance you'd understand why lol. Hmm lets see if youtube has it... holy crap so many with the nudity mod used...:/ ah here's one that looks passable
