Fallout 4 stops responding when opening a work table or reading a magazine

To be able to scrap things that normally can't be scrapped or that are missed by Spring cleaning, hit the "Ins" key while in WorkShop mode. Be very carefull when aiming beause nearly everyhing can be scrapped that way. You also don't get ingredients from stuff that normally cannot be scrapped.

In combination with the "F5" key you can walk outside the build perimeter of a settlement to scrap stuff that's too close to built walls (trees mostly) or get extra ingredients from car wrecks that are laying close to a settlement but outside the build border.

No clue as to why the game would stop responding when entering a workbench or reading a magazine, besides that it seems like the game has a hard time loading any of the screens which can lead to thinking that maybe you have high resolution mods for magazines or work benches that can't get loaded because too large.

Right, getting rid of Scrap Everthing and updating my mods did nothing.

Ah, didn't see! So unlikely scrap everything (which does give that) you get nothing-- but that's okay, really! I don't got any mods for resolution as far as I know, and even new game does it, so.. I really don't get it. :( I can technically play, atleast, but.. it takes away a lot of core elements.

Things that you can scrap inside a settlement's build borders and that you find outside those borders will give ingredients. Some stuff that wasn't supposed to be scrapped won't give anything, even inside build borders, like some tree clusters with their lump of ground attached. Spring Cleaning doesn't scrap as much as Scrap Everything, though. I can't remeber exactly why I stopped using Scrap Everything and switched to Spring Cleaning, early 2016. I know I had a few problems with the former. That and the fact Spring Cleaning has an esm, which takes away the problem of load order.

Fair enough! I'm going to trust your judgement on it and follow your advice, heh. It does seem easier when things are ESM's, less hassle. :P I haven't been able to uninstall every single mod again.. When I do I'll have to make sure I install things to how they were, if it fails. Otherwise my previous hours of testing every mod at a time will be wasted, maybe I'll be lucky and get somebody else who may have an idea what causes this! (Since I'm not home properly yet. Just got home and leaving again tomorow morning.)

If I cut and paste my data folder elsewhere, and same with my documents-- will it redownload it all, as a temp solution to see if it'd work unmodded? So I don't have to actually uninstall all of my mods?
