View distance Slider bars vs. Oblivion.INI

Hello,

What values and INI entry's correspond to the (video settings, view distance slider bars)

I would like to permanently set my Trees to 90%, Actors to 100%, Objects to 80%, Grass to 60%, and Items to 40% but I don't know what INI entry's to tweak or what the values should be for these entry's to obtain the desired effect. I have messed around with some settings I think are correct but just end up with actors at 0% and items at 0%.

Thanks

I think you'll find this guide useful.

Anyway, by your post seems you have something changing the settings on background, like streamline. If so the correct place to change things is in it's own .INI file.

I've looked at the Tweak guide before and it doesn't cover the LOD distance settings that the in game slider bars change.

Also I don't have any programs installed that change these settings, like streamline (streamline actually slows down my PC and causes my CTD frequency to go way up.)

Basically when I change the in game slider bars the settings I like, they won't save, and I have to reset them every time I restart the game.

So, back to my original question, (see first post)

Thanks

If the game crash in the exit the .ini isn't saved, you can open the console and type the command: saveini

This will force the changes being recorded.

Some of your informations points you having something more weird that this LOD issue. If the suggestion above fails you can be certain there's something fishy in your setup.
